If you’ve seen the latest series of American Horror Story, then prepare yourself for a real trip into an abandoned asylum, courtesy of photographer David Maisel. He gained exclusive access to Oregon Sate Hospital to documentary their now desolate asylum wing last used in 1970. What he found, as you’re about to see, was as chilling as it was intriguing. Along with several unsettling autopsy bays he found a bizarre archive where the decaying remains of past inmates were still in their canisters, dating back as far as the nineteenth century.
