A short amazing story about a man which built a sustainable house spending only 11 000 $
It all started when kayaking instructor and boat builder Brian Schulz found a brass sink at a recycle center and thought, "I'd like to build a house for this sink."
But he had to fulfill his dream on a budget, and he was able to do so by salvaging natural resources and traveling around to find people who offered the necessary materials.
While the structure has most of the qualities of a normal house, it is more sustainable than the average home in the suburbs.
Schulz said of his experience, "With deep enough pockets, a person might be able to duplicate such a structure by writing a large check to a talented builder, but that would risk missing the point entirely."
He says that just searching for the materials allowed him to have incredible experiences that he wouldn't have had if he'd just hired a contractor.
