These surreal frog and toad photos look like they're from a sci-fi movie, but are real examples of these amphibians' diversity. They are found almost everywhere around the world, and range in size from a tiny 7.7 mm (0.3 inches) to the goliath frog's whopping 32 cm (12.6 inches). The world frog population is in rapid decline, and over 1/3 of all frog species are threatened with extinction. Many scientists believe that amphibians are a good biological indicator of broader ecosystem health, which means we might have something to worry about. So if you want future generations to be able to enjoy such beauty, do your part—be mindful of the environment!
