Marriage equality is a big deal right now. In the past few years, states have voted for (and against) same-sex marriage, our president has changed his views on the issue while in office, our Catholic VP openly supports marriage equality (showing that you can have your religion and still be accepting of the beliefs of others), CA Prop 8 is going to the Supreme Court SOON, and three states JUST legalized marriage equality.
For the past couple of years, people in Maine, Minnesota, Maryland, and Washington have been working tirelessly for equa
and Washington (not pictured) acknowledged the fact that they could finally get married in their home states.
And of course, the Castro in San Francisco went wild.
I am SO proud to have been a part of the Castro block party myself. History was celebrated last night. And I, along with quite a lot of San Francisco, celebrated it right there. In the Castro. Right outside of Hot Cookie and Q Bar. Together. I'm crossing my fingers for Prop 8 to be overturned in the Supreme Court soon.
