For those of you who might not have heard of him, he’s the visionary artist whose conceptual artworks and paintings played a pivotal role in creating and indeed storyboarding George Lucas’s ‘Star Wars’ films. Many of the sets in the film, are directly based on Ralph McQuarrie’s creations. He is literally the man that came up with the look of Darth Vader, C-3PO, R2-D2, the Stormtroopers to name just a few.
