What is it that separates successful from the unsucessful, unhappy from the unhappy?! Life habits! Here are some sure ways to become healthier, happier and more successful in all areas of your life. And if you're already practicing many of these, way to go and keep it up! Let's start with the basic ones...
Wake up EARLY
Wake up EARLY! It's proven that many successful people are early risers.Besides the obvious fact that you can get more done if you have more time during the day, waking up early helps your metabolism, which in turn helps the brain to be clearer.
Make Yourself Wake Up
And if you insist on just NOT being a morning person, make yourself! The circadian clock will eventually get on board and you will gradually stop resembling this owl. ;-)
Eat healthy
Eat healthy. A healthy body = a healthy mind.
Exercise
And of course vise versa. Exercise is the ultimate stress reliever, mood enhancer, and overall health improver!
Listen
Listen! "Most of the successful people I’ve known are the ones who do more listening than talking." Bernard M. Baruch. Listening to others opens your mind to their wisdom and experiences, which can in turn teach you a few things.
Accept the things that can't be changed
Now it's getting deeper. Life is unfair! There will always be things that you can get hung up on, your past, the not so perfect present, or the worrisome future. But in order to be at peace with yourself, from which happiness and success stems, accept the things that can't be changed and focus on the things that are under your control.
Never hold grudges
Never hold grudges! "Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die" Buddha. Negative emotions don't only drain you mentally and emotionally, but literally poison your body with toxins.
Don't sweat the small stuff
Don't sweat the small stuff. Everyone has bad days and unpleasant situations, but not letting them upset you and keeping an eye on the bigger picture is a true life saver.
Don't compare yourself with others
Don't compare yourself with others! You are unique and your journey in life is different and on it's own time, so comparing your success to others doesn't make sense. All it can do is burden you with doubt, frustration and envy.
Appreciate what you have
Appreciate what you have! It's always great to put things in perspective and reflect once in a while on the fact that you're actually very lucky to be where you are.
Live minimally
Live minimally. Extra stuff around the house can make you feel overwhelmed and stressed, so keep it clean and simple and you'll feel better.
No Excuses
No Excuses! Making excuses is a sure way to fail, and promotes laziness. Benjamin Franklin once said, "He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else". So what ever it is JUST DO IT!
