Perhaps the summer sun is just too hot for the stars to have long locks! The latest Hollywood hair trend is shaving half of your head – and you'd be surprised to see how many stars are trying out the cool, bold 'do.
Avril Lavigne
There's nothing complicated about Avril Lavigne's trendy tresses. The 28-year-old debuted her no-nonsense haircut for the first time in 2012, but showed up with a repeat performance of the lopsided style last week in Paris. Perhaps the "Smile" singer will keep the look for her upcoming wedding to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.
Rosario Dawson
"Gimme Shelter" actress Rosario Dawson is the latest star to bust out the new look. The popular new cut, also known as "the undercut," is an edgy look featuring long hair on one side and a buzz cut on the other side. The 34-year-old star, who is known for her beautiful chestnut locks, definitely gave her fans a jolt when she hit the town with her new style last week.
Pink
We're used to punky Pink messing with her tresses, which is why we weren't surprised when she kissed away her hair in early June. The 33-year-old mom is now sporting a half-shaved head and long blond extensions. In honor of her new 'do, the "Just Give Me a Reason" singer took to Twitter to declare June "crazy hair month."
Miley Cyrus
We hate to be a buzz kill, but we miss Miley Cyrus's long, beachy waves. On the heels of her engagement to "Hunger Games" hunk, Liam Hemsworth, the songbird decided to bid her girly image adieu and embrace a punk rock look by shaving the sides of her head in November 2012. The result? A bleach-blond, mohawk crop.
Rihanna
Rihanna is definitely a hair chameleon. The Barbados-born babe has tried everything from a mohawk to extensions to wild red tresses. In February of this year, the "We Found Love" pop star gave her locks a half-buzz two months before she told on-again, off-again love Chris Brown to buzz off. Seems fitting.
Jessie J
Jessie J has no problem shirking the normally prim and proper British image. The "Domino" songbird took a trimmer to her trademark bob on national television during the 25th annual Comic Relief fundraiser in March. Her hair-defying stunt earned the charity a serious chunk of change.
Cassie
R&B singer Cassie had long, gorgeous locks before she decided to make a change and shave the right side of her head in 2009. According to the "Step Up 2" star, she wanted to represent, "something that displays the 'I don't give a f---' attitude that was always present, but never showcased ... & something that will shock your mother, but make her call you a ROCK STAR." Mission accomplished, Cassie.
Paris Jackson
Paris Jackson isn't afraid to try out a cool new trend. The Los Angeles high school student and daughter of Michael Jackson nixed her stick-straight strands in favor of the hot hairstyle. Props to Paris for trying something new with her look.
