These kinds of fan music videos are hit and miss for me. Most of the ones I come across aren't that good, but Game of Thrones - Ultimate Birthday Rap Battle is actually done pretty well. It's set up at a 10-year-old's birthday party, which doesn't make much sense, but that's the vibe they were going for. Here's a note from the team that made it:

Here's an entertaining trailer for a new film called Fading Gigolo, which stars Woody Allen and John Turturro. Here's where things get interesting... Allen didn't direct the movie, Turturro did, and it's very rare to get Allen to star in someone else's movie. But when you watch this trailer you'll see why Allen took the gig. This looks like a very well-scripted, funny film that audiences could enjoy. It is about a guy whose friend convinces him to become a gigolo for a little extra cash. It actually kind of feels like a Woody Allen movie, and here's the synopsis: Woody Allen plays as bookseller-turned-pimp to John Turturro's middle-aged neophyte hustler, in actor-writer-director Turturro's inspired left-field comedy. The premise is as inspired as it is absurd, and Turturro carries it off with his own affecting and surprisingly romantic vision of New York City. The film doesn’t have a U.S. release date yet, but it is set to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this September.

During Edgar Wright's panel for The World's End at Comic-Con last month, the director showed off a really cool video created by Mike Relm called The Cornetto Megamix, and it features the audio and video from the three films that Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost have worked on together over the years: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End (collectively dubbed the "Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy"). Wright posted the video on his blog and said that it "might be my favourite re-edit of any of my work."

Yo VIP, I got a video for you. Here's a short that required way too much effort for such a ridiculous, but incredibly awesome, idea. I'm not the biggest fan of Vanilla Ice, but I can appreciate the amount of time it took to throw these clips from film and television together to rap "Ice Ice Baby." There are way too many to count, but at a glance you'll see House of Cards, Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back, The Big Lebowski, Batman & Robin, Terminator, TMNT, and Trailer Park Boys for starters. Enjoy it, and apologies in advance if the song's in your head the rest of the day.

I know this isn't really movie related, but there are a bunch of Yo-Yo geeks in the world, so I thought, "what the hell, I'm going to post this." It's a video featuring 2013 Yo-Yo World Champion Janos Karancz destroying his competition at the World Championship. The stuff this guy pulls off is unbelievable, and I guarantee it is going to blow your mind in ways you never thought possible! I've also included a slow-motion edit to see what he's actually doing with this Yo-yo. Enjoy!

The Formula One racing film Rush looks pretty freakin' radical. I like everything I've seen from the movie so far. It looks like there's going to be a lot of intense Formula One racing action, but here's a new clip from the film that gives us a look at more of the dramatic side of things. It features the first meeting between race car driver James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and beautiful model Suzy Miller (Olivia Wilde), who goes on to become his wife. Check out the clip!

It's safe to say that we will never see the Marvel and DC cinematic universes collide on the big screen. But thanks to YouTuber Mr88668866, we have an idea of what that epicness could look like in his fan-made Avengers Vs. Justice League trailer. He uses a ton of footage from several different comic book films and does a great job editing them all together. This turned out really entertaining, so I hope you enjoy it!

Alright I made up that name, and the singing is not the best by any means. The lyrics, though, and the cosplay? It's all so fantastic! It all gets a little silly at some points, but what more can you expect from a Deadpool song? By the way this is the guy you see in all those con videos dancing as Deadpool. Two thumbs up, D Piddy! Here's a deleted scene from one of my favorite episodes of The Walking Dead season 3. The Episode is called "Clear," and this scene is a extended version of Morgan's powerful tirade to Rick. It's one of those non-zombie killing scenes that proves how amazing this series really is. This episode was written by Scott Gimple, who is the new showrunner on the series. Check out the extended scene!

Des Taylor (known as DESPOP) has created some wonderful art. The team of Wonder Woman and Captain America is among my favorites, and that is perfectly encapsulated by the recent commission piece he did featuring the two of them, which you can find featured in the slideshow below. The art itself is fantastic, but above that, I personally believe that Steve and Diana would make a much better fit than she and Clark do. As tempting as it is to make this post nothing but a rant on that particular subject, I will resist and instead focus on Despop's lovely art style. Check out the gallery to see more of his Cap and a lot more of his Wonder Woman, and if you enjoy it, you can find more of his work on deviant art or his official store.

Unless, of course, you’re ScarJo’s future husband Romain Dauriac, in which case: hi, I hate you. Anyway, according to every celebrity website ever, Dauriac, a French journalist who looks comically small in this photo, recently put a ring on it, “it” being Scarlett Johansson’s finger, “Scarlett Johansson” being not my future wife. People spoke to an anonymous source who revealed, “I can confirm that Scarlett and Romain are engaged. They haven’t chosen a date for the wedding.” (At least we know the informant isn’t Ryan Reynolds.) In related news, here is an important collection of important Scarlett Johansson GIFs, which is the best we normal people are going to get for now, except for Dauriac, who gets to spend the rest of his life with a living GIF.

Even the greatest among us had humble beginnings. This is just as true for websites, however, as it is for people. Even online giants like Amazon, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter were once itty-bitty websites with monochrome homepages, poorly-thought-out logos and boring or stark turn-of-the-century designs. Mashable, which collected the old homepages from the Wayback Machine, even included their own site on the list. Check out these images to see how the internet greats looked in their infancy.

Rewind to the 1920′s when film and photography were still in their infancy, where artists were still grappling with the limitations of the technology itself and it’s here you’ll find the interesting tale of a photographer named J. Dearden Holmes. One of his clients whom he produced photographic work for was called Cavenders Ltd. Their primary business was selling cigarettes and to make them all the more enticing, they would include stereoscopic cards within each packet. Two images slightly offset, one for your right eye, one for your left eye, that when combined would create the illusion of 3D depth. Holmes was commissioned to shoot a series titled ‘Peeps Into Many lands, A Series of Real Photographs’ long-winded yes, but for its time – his stereoscopic photographs were a close as you could get to actually setting foot in those distant lands. His photography journey took him all over the world, including Egypt, London, Canada, Delhi where he photographed the likes of The Sphinx, London’s Zoo, Kutb Minar and even the Rocky Mountains, before converting them into stereoscopic packs. Today those images have been converted into the trust animated GIF to give you the same effect he created all those years ago.

We've been fans of French artist Gregoire Guillemin for quite some time. In the past, we featured many of his superhero themed series such as his retro-modern superhero illustrations as well as his smooth, minimalist superhero work. Lately, Guillemin has been working on a hilarious new series called The Secret Life of Heroes. The funny and sexy illustrations feature both heroes and villains in ways we've never seen them before. Poor Mickey Mouse looks worn down and sick while smoking a cigarette while Winnie the Pooh looks like he's really enjoying that beer. The best illustrations are the ones where the hero or heroine is acting completely out of character like Disney's Ariel scarfing down some sushi.

En Puntas is a video installation by artist Javier Pérez featuring ballerina Amélie Ségarra performing an incredible dance atop a grand piano, entirely en pointe, wearing a customized set of pointe shoes that extend beyond the toe box with a pair of sharp kitchen knives. As if dancing on the tips of your toes for an extended period of time isn't enough, Ségarra has the added pressure of balancing on a thinner platform, from an even greater height. The thought of someone even managing to stand on the potentially dangerous footwear is absolutely astounding. The fact that Ségarra maintains her balance and even leaves her mark as she purposely scrapes the sharp-edged blades across the piano is both exhilarating and frightening to watch. The intense performance is made all the more gripping as the elegant dancer tiptoes closer to the edge, making it difficult to avert one's eyes.

People are comparing Miley Cyrus‘ appearance at the VMAs last night to a lot of things — an uncooked chicken, an old Jim Carey character, naked Hank Hill, etc. But nobody is comparing her to what she really looked like — a giraffe with its tongue sticking out. After telling mom and anybody else who would listen, we decided to make MORE proof! Here are some pictures where we’ve replaced Miley’s head with the head of a giraffe. You can barely tell the difference.

Here’s what happens when you stick the Wilhelm Scream any old place you want. The Wilhelm Scream is a classic movie and television sound effect of a high-pitched scream that is constantly recycled. If you’ve seen ‘Star Wars’ or any of the countless other movies it’s used in, you’ve heard it before. The first couple of clips of the Wilhelm Scream being used in this video from Diane Bullock, who helped bring you the equally hilarious ‘Mr. Wizard is a Dick‘ supercut, are real. After that, things get pretty ridiculous. Oh, and if you’ve never seen ‘King Kong,’ ‘Sophie’s Choice’ or ‘Old Yeller,’ SPOILERS. Also, you should probably watch those movies.

It’s hard to believe that some of the most ambitious architectural designs of the modern era, also proved to be significantly flawed when it came to their final execution. Despite all the funding, approvals, meetings, planning, scoping, documentation and individuals involved in constructing these impressive feats of human ingenuity, somewhere, somehow it all went wrong. The New School of Architecture and Design have created an infographic titled ‘Failure by Design‘ which highlights some of the most notable failures of architectural design from eight famous buildings from around the world. The errors range from significantly under estimating the weight of structures, to failing to accommodate the surrounding geological hazards to even erecting a building on unstable marshland. You’ll be amazed and confounded as to how any of these structures past the planning stage let alone ended up being built!

Quaint though they may be, we’ve come a long way from this hellishly misleading smoking advertisements from yesteryear. Actor Edmund Lowe once proudly declared: “It’s that delightful taste after a cup of coffee that makes Luckies a hit with me. And naturally I protect my voice with Luckies. No harsh irritants for me…..I reach for Lucky instead. Congratulations on your improved Cellophane wrapped. I can open it.” Even US President Ronald Reagan, paid off by big tobacco, willingly promoting the fact he loved to send cigarettes to all his friends at Christmas. Put it down to clever marketing or being genuine naive, this collection of vintage adverts promoting the health benefits of inhaling over 4,000 chemicals were all the rage 40 years ago. Of those 4,000 chemicals in tobacco smoke, around 69 of those same chemicals are known to cause cancer. Today, we’re better informed and more aware of the dangers and hazards associated with smoking. And whilst your local doctor might still have a crafty cigarette during his lunch break, you’d be hard pressed to find them willingly endorsing an expensive & addictive product, that ultimately kills you. Progress it seems, has been made.

There have been few dinners parties quite like it. It’s December 12 1972, the night at which Marie-Hélène de Rothschild held her famous Surrealist Ball at Ferrières. As you can probably guess by her surname, she was a member of the ultra-wealthy Rothschild banking family. Few made the guest-list but if you did, it was the ultimate seal of approval from Parisian high-society. The requirements for the evening were “Black tie, long dresses & Surrealists heads” nothing more, nothing less. In keeping with the theme, the invitation which she sent was actually written backwards – to read the invite you had to hold it up to a mirror. Now when money is no object, the only limit is ones imagination and it’s fair to say that Marie-Hélène certainly had plenty in supply. Firstly she insisted the iconic Château where the party was to be housed, be floodlight with sweeping amber lights, designed to create the illusion the building was on fire. Once instead, she made sure the entire staircase was filled with servants and footmen dressed as cats – all in various poses of sleep. And once you’d overcome that initial shock, guests were then forced to enter a hellish labyrinthine maze – where should you get lost, one of the “cats” would rescue you and whisk you away where you’d be formally greeted by Marie-Hélène herself. On this particular night, she was wearing a ginormous giant’s head that was crying tears of diamonds. Naturally.

Choosing a career of military service can certainly be a dangerous occupation. Aside from potentially being sent into foreign lands only to be bombard with enemy fire, even the day-to-day ceremonies can be hazardous. It’s not uncommon for soldiers to suddenly faint after standing at attention for a prolonged period. Is it because they are utterly overwhelmed by being in the presence of royalty or heads of state?

Rewind to 1885 and it’s during that era that North Brother Island was used a busy hospital complex primarily designed to quarantine members of the public who had been infected with smallpox or the debilitating typhoid fever. It’s situated between the Bronx and Riker’s Island, New York City and later on in its life, the centre become a rehab clinic. As new developments with easier access have risen up, North Brother Island slowly fell into a state of disrepair eventually becoming abandoned in around 1963. This is what it looks like today, it’s now a bird sanctuary.

If you haven’t already guessed, we’re big fans of portrait art here on SBSG, but we have to admit it’s not every day you see artwork painted using merely a basketball! But that’s precisely the tool Malaysian artist Hong Yi used to create her portrayal of Chinese basketball player Yao Ming. Below is a time-lapse video of her bouncing the ball and bringing her creation to life using nothing more than red paint. Quite how she achieved such an impressive feat is still somewhat of a mystery, but then again that’s half the fun isn’t it? In her own words “I love to paint, but not with a paintbrush.”, she’s true to her word too. You can see the full range of her artistic experiments via redhongyi.com, there’s not a brush in sight.

If (like many) you found Singapore’s Frightening Theme Park Dedicated To Chinese Mythology a little too confronting, but still want to seek out the unusual and strange, you could always pay a visit to the “Magic Forest” in Imatra, Finland. Whether by choice or just bad design, it’s a forest littered with unsettling stone mannequins whose’s expressions are almost as creepy as the scenarios they’re placed in. How about a moustached made in a sharp blue seat, handcuffing a teenager to a tree and beating him with a cane? Or maybe you’d be more interested in a tall lanky local flasher? There’s even a few religious characters floating around, including The Grim Reaper himself, who certainly looks quite healthy. In short, it’s the perfect place to go anytime, day or night, if you want to give yourself nightmares for eternity.

We've had nearly 24 hours to sit and think about the album cover for Drake's Nothing Was the Same, and it's still no less funny and ridiculous and it looks like wrapping paper than it was yesterday. In that sense, it's so perfectly Drake, and if it's not airbrushed on the side of 17 vans by the end of the week, I will be sorely disappointed. Some people don't respect its imperfect perfections, though; they've decided to redo the cover, using Photoshops and llamas, which is also the name of my They Might Be Giants cover band. Here are some of the best parodies.

A few years ago, Strikeforce Women’s Middleweight Championship challenger Gina Carano figured out that she was pretty and people liked her, so she stopped getting punched in the face for a living and started doing MMA fight scenes in movies like Haywire. UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey’s is currently going through the same thing, starring alongside 40 60-year old men in The Expendables 3. One of the many conspiracy theories about Chris Weidman’s Middleweight Championship victory is that Anderson Silva threw the fight so he’d have more free time to make horrible-looking MMA movies. Hell, even Ken Shamrock was in Champions back in the day. MMA has proven to be a surprisingly-easy springboard into mainstream movie stardom, so it shouldn’t surprise you that UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones suddenly wants to be an actor. Or that he wants to be like The Rock, who is in, like, 65 of the 67 movies released this year. “I’d like to model my acting career on Dwayne Johnson, the way he came out of [WWE] and started off tough guy roles and then moved over to doing ‘Tooth Fairy,’” the 24-year-old Jones told MMAjunkie.com during an appearance at the UFC’s “World Tour” in Los Angeles. “That’s when you really saw that he could act, and he’s the one I admire and respect a lot, so I know I’d love to model my acting career after (him).” Yes, we all really saw The Rock’s acting chops in Tooth Fairy, because being tough and wearing a tutu means “acting.” We saw Hulk Hogan’s acting ability in Mr. Nanny. But don’t think it’s all tough guy roles and then ballerina costumes for Bones. He’s going to ply his craft!

That is, he would take pop-culture characters we all know and love and create small portraits of them using only LEGO bricks. After making just one, his fans gave him such positive feedback that he knew he was onto something. As he tells us, "I quickly put together one of Wolverine and posted it on Instagram and Facebook. I was blown away by the response, and so I challenged myself to do more."

Street artist Francisco de Pájaro (aka “Art Is Trash”) takes piles of garbage found on the street and turns it into quirky art by painting faces and arranging it in humorous ways. The Spanish-born artist recently hit the streets of London and created a series with that city’s trash. Global Street Art’s James Buxton recently interviewed Pájaro for Société Perrier and quotes him, “We consume a lot, and rubbish is part of that, it’s people wasting things. There’s a romantic aspect, somebody’s given it up, they don’t want it, because one little bit is broken, because they don’t want to fix it, that’s the Capitalist mindset, so I give it life, so there’s a sensitive and romantic side to the work. It’s not all about monsters and nightmares in the work. Even when I’m making monsters, I’m taking things and bringing them back to life, giving them meaning.” Pájaro is currently exhibiting at a solo show titled “Police & Horse” at West Bank London Art in West London’s Notting Hill.
