Toy biz is tough, and companies have to come up with new and creative ways to sell their characters in an ever competing market. Some succeed with an awesome line of action figures, and other just totally fail. Here's a collection of weirdest action figures ever made. What the hell were they thinking?
Rocky, "Meat." Every single character from the movie "Rocky" has been made, and what do you know, they even made the side of beef Silvestre Stalone trained on in the first movie, complete with the bloody butchers jacket. The thing's even got an eye, aww. I guess this can be kind of humorous, but in reality it's just a bad idea.
Doctor Who, "Destroyed Cassandra." Lady Cassandra was a last earth-born human character in the British TV show called "Doctor Who". In the last episodes she was basically a sheet of skin with a face in a nutrient tank, because her life was extended through 708 plastic surgeries. Well besides making the original Lady Cassandra the toy biz decided to make the destroyed version as well. Have fun with this plastic frame kids!
Indiana Jones, "German Mechanic." So this character is from the Raiders Of The Lost Ark series, he was the one who boxed with Indiana Jones and then got cut up by the Flying Wing propeller. Looks like a worthy action figure, not!
Jurrasic Park, "Dennis Nedry." He was the guy who deactivated the security system, stole embryos and caused some chaos in Jurassic Park. He was also a fatty in a Hawaiian shirt. Here's his character, slimmed down, and pretty useless...oh and for some reason his arms can also be detached.
"Kiss Players", Convoy. A Japanese company, Takara that originally produced the transformers action figures took a step into a weird direction in 2006 by making a line of "Kiss Players." The Convoy character, Optimus Prime, becomes more powerful now when he's kissed by a teenage girl? Yup. Another rather inappropriate image for the children.
Spider-Man "Soccer Adventure Hero." You have to be able to sell the same character over and over again, how does toy biz do that? They change up their roles, costumes and accessories. Well here they went a little off with a soccer spide-rman character. The little short shorts and the super buff thighs make this toy look pretty silly. Have some vision, god!
Punisher "Shape Shifter." The iconic vigilante was a very popular action figure, until things got weird with the "shape shifter" series. This version transforms into a hand gun, however if you catch him in the middle of transformation, he becomes super inappropriate.
