Brian Ashcraft of Kotaku is reporting on a recent trend in China where parents are amusingly dressing their young children in costumes made of hollowed out watermelon rinds. The “Watermelon Kids” craze is all done in fun, of course, although Ashcraft warns that wearing watermelons for a long time could be dangerous because it could “breed germs and bacteria.” Now even some grown-ups are joining in with their own fruit rind costume creations.
