Edith Windsor walked out of the court after arguments in her case challenging the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act and a huge roar erupted from the crowd of fans gathered on the Supreme Court steps. Windsor sued the federal government after she was forced to pay additional taxes because it did not recognize her marriage to a woman (Thea Spyer) under the law known as DOMA. Kim Jong-Un
28 mar 2013 09:32

Despite massive international pressure, North Korea has been moving ahead with its long-range missile and nuclear ambitions, launching a rocket in December and conducting a nuclear test in February. International sanctions tightened in response, and even China, a longtime ally, stepped up inspections of North Korea-bound freight. Responding to the crackdown, North Korea's government has been issuing new threats of war nearly every day over the past month, cutting ties to South Korea and ordering military units to prepare for attack at any moment. Over the past month, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea's official media division, has been issuing a stream of images of military exercises, soldiers in training, and, of course, supreme leader Kim Jong Un inspecting and inspiring the troops. (At least one of these images appears to be digitally manipulated). Gathered here are recent KCNA photographs of North Korea's war machine, as the country wishes the world to see it. The photos were distributed by Reuters, AFP, and AP as a service, and cannot be independently verified or authenticated.

Frank Zappa
21 mar 2013 01:11

If you’re not familiar with the prolific Frank Zappa featured above, here’s a brief history lesson. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Zappa wrote rock, jazz, orchestral and musique concrète works, directed feature-length films, music videos and even designed album covers. Equally impressive, is that he produced almost all of the more than 60 albums he released with the band The Mothers of Invention and as a solo artist. But what I truly love about Frank Zappa, is that on September 19, 1985 he testified before the United States Senate Commerce, Technology, and Transportation committee, attacking the Parents Music Resource Center – a music organization co-founded by Tipper Gore, wife of then-senator Al Gore. The PMRC was founded to address the issue of song lyrics with!252?id=216340sexual or satanic content. Naughty naughty. Zappa (quite rightly) saw their activities as on a path towards censorship, and called their proposal for voluntary labeling of records with explicit content “extortion” of the music industry. Soon after he became the voice of anti-censorship & freedom of creative expression – which lead to his iconic appearance on “CNN’s Crossfire” show where he debated that music videos, songs and recordings about remain uncensored. I’ll let the man and his views speak for themselves in the footage from that show – but simply put, I agree 110% with him.

Lululemon Yoga Pants
19 mar 2013 14:27

Lululemon stated in a release: "The ingredients, weight and longevity qualities of the pants remain the same but the coverage does not, resulting in a level of sheerness in some of our women's black Luon bottoms that falls short of our very high standards." The company shares have tumbled Monday afternoon due to these news.

As Lululemon climbed up the ranks of sportswear and appears a favorite among all the yoga-doing, gym-going, track-running ladies out there, it has similarly been a favorite among many men who claim to only attend yoga classes to ogle at the ladies in their sexy Lululemon attire. Hence, does the general public really mind the 'sheerness' of their products or is Lululemon just trying to uphold a more conservative reputation?

New Research Uncovers The Real Damage Of Sleep Deprivation.
08 mar 2013 16:26

Everyone knows the common negative effects of sleep deprivation, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and heart desease, however it doesn't make the majority of people smarter about their sleep. Our bodies need a good 8 hours of sleep but according to a Centers for Disease Control report released in 2012 almost 1/3 of working adults in America get only 6, and it gets even worse in Daylight Saving. A recent study of two hospitals in Michigan found that they treated almost twice as many heart attack victims on the first day of Daylight Saving, and that there are usually more car accidents following the time change. But the main poin here is a new discovery made in a study just published in the "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences". It's proven that getting too little sleep just a few nights in a row disrupts hundreds of genes responsible for stress and fighting diseases. Different genes turn on and off, and the ones that became active with lack of sleep, were involved in inflammation, immunity and protein damage. So people Sleep On!

New Punishments for Kids Who Break Curfew
01 mar 2013 21:46

The latest parental public shaming technique is also the most narcissistic one we’ve ever encountered. After his daughter broke curfew, a father forced the teenage girl to wear a t-shirt baring his image for a week at school. Under the photo of his giant mug were the words “Try Me!!” Apparently the girl also had to wash the shirt every day so it was fresh for school the next morning. The punishment came to light when a photo of dad and his special-shirt wearing daughter was posted to Reddit. “What my friend made his daughter wear to school for a week as punishment for coming home past curfew. Parenting win?,” the poster wondered. Reddit seemed split on the punishment’s effectiveness. What do you think? Is it a parenting win, or is somebody just a little too in love with his own face? We’re hoping that in a couple years from now she starts wearing the shirt ironically.

Miss Delaware Teen USA, Melissa King, has resigned her title and crown after allegations of her being featured in a pornographic video. Some comments on a porn website have identified her as the female from the video, however King strongly denies these comments.

In the comments in the video, a woman who strongly resembles King says she just turned 18 three months ago, which matches up with King's birthday. The women also states that she has done beauty pageants before, thought this would be fun and needed the money.

Miss Teen USA pageant is owned by Donald Trump as part of the Miss Universe organization and has had a number of sex tape scandals, including Carrie Prejean, Miss California 2009, and Anya Ayoung-Chee.

1000 Of Spiders Are Raining Down On People In Brazil!
18 feb 2013 18:57

Thousands of spiders descended down on shocked residents of Santo Antonio da Platina, a city near Sao Paulo, Brazil. This particular species called the "Anelosimus eximius" is very social, and lives in large colonies, each one is the size of a pencil eraser. The spiders make huge webs on trees, and strong winds, which are very common in the area this time of year, can tear down their webs and carry the whole colony consisting of 1000 or more spiders around the city. In this case a bunch of these poor spiders got stuck on telephone poles and wires, which made it seem like a cloud, or rain of spiders. Pretty crazy, I would definitely not want to be one of the witnesses on site.

High School Freshman Suspended For Red Hair?!
14 feb 2013 14:04

A 15 year old 9th grader Rylee MacKay was suspended from Hurrican High school in Utah after principal Roy Hoyt said her red hair color seemed pinkish purple on the light, and didn't belong to a natural color spectrum according to Washington County School District dress code: “Hair, including beards, mustaches and sideburns, should be groomed so that it is neat and clean. Extreme hairstyles are prohibited. Hair color should be within the spectrum of color that hair grows naturally.” Rylee's mother is outraged and will not oblige with school administators request to dye Rylee's hair brown in order to be able to come back to school. Other mothers are also speaking out, on that rule being too harsh.

Lady Gaga did the Impossible and Upstagged Jagger at his own Concert!

While I love Lady Gaga, I often get irritated with her because her penchant for walking around with live ocelots on her head obscures the fact that she’s a mad talented vocalist. Ask most people if she can actually sing and they probably wouldn’t even know. But the Lady can wail. And she proved it at a Dec. 15 appearance with the Rolling Stones.

New Guinea is Still Burning Witches

A Young New Guinea Woman, Kepari Leniata, Was Accused of Sorcery and Was Burned Alive!

You read that right, she was burned to death.

20 year-old mother, Kepari Leniata was stripped, tied up with rope, rubbish and old tires tossed on top of her, then lit afire; burned alive! Onlookers watched and photographed the public execution, as if it was something to pop into their family photo  albums as a fond memory.

Kepari Leniata was accused of sorcery by the relatives of a six-year-old boy, who recently died in a hospital under unclear circumstances. These were also the people who chose to take the law into their own hands, and bury the poor woman. Oddly enough, the persecutors were also able to gain support from local citizens, who agreed with what they were doing, and even blocked firefighters who had raced to the scene to put out the blaze. Children and families gathered to watch the cruel murder of Leniata, snapping photos and video footage with their mobile devices.

Incredibly, the excavation uncovered not only the friary – preserved underneath a council car park – but also a battle-scarred skeleton with spinal curvature. On 4th February 2013, after a battery of scientific tests, the University announced to the world’s press that these were the remains of Richard III. England’s last Plantagenet monarch had been found…WTF!
