Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler sat out the second half of a 13-6 loss to the Houston Texans with a concussion. Cutler was hit by linebacker Tim Dobbins after delivering an illegal forward pass with just under three minutes remaining in the first half. Cutler remained in the game, scrambling for 11 yards on the following play. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith left Sunday's 24-24 tie with the St. Louis Rams with a concussion. Smith took a hard shot from Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar late in the first quarter, but remained in the game and completed five passes, including a touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree. Smith reportedly suffered the concussion while attempting a quarterback sneak on a fourth-and-1, but stayed in the game for six plays before completing the touchdown pass to Crabtree and giving way to 2011 second-round pick Colin Kaepernick. Vick was replaced in the lineup by rookie Nick Foles, but Eagles head coach Andy Reid said that Vick would remain the starter, provided that he is healthy. Two sources indicated that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a separated shoulder in Pittsburgh's Monday night's 13-10 overtime win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Roethlisberger was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for an MRI exam, according to his agent, Ryan Tollner.
