For those of us who have a sweet tooth, cakes are one of those guilty pleasures that are hard to resist. Just imagine the rich creamy, extra moist and delectable taste of cakes! It would be unfair to blame someone when usually cakes not only look but also taste good.

Tiny Cute Food Jewelry I Made From Polymer Clay
06 may 2015 13:00

I’ve been making jewelry for several years and I make pretty much everything from polymer clay. I always pay attention to detail so every piece of clay turns into realistic looking jewelry. Sometimes it takes several hours to finish one simple piece of cake or cupcake only because I always strive for perfection. It can drive you crazy especially when an earring is as tiny as a dime. That’s why patience is essential with this kind of work.

Watch an Exclusive Metallica 'Through the Never' Featurette
30 sep 2013 12:44

Metallica release their long-awaited 3D concert film ‘Metallica Through the Never’ at IMAX theaters nationwide today, with the movie arriving in regular theaters a week later. We’re partnering with our sister sites Loudwire, Noisecreep and ScreenCrush to bring you this exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette. ‘Hit the Lights: The Making of ‘Metallica Through the Never’ – Chapter 8: The Fans’ chronicles the band’s shows at the Palacio del los Deportes in Mexico City in the summer of 2012 that played to 170,000 people over eight nights. The dates served as a dress rehearsal for the concert that was filmed for the movie, which was performed at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on Aug. 24, 2012. The nearly six-minute clip shows the depth of Metallica’s Mexican fan base, which includes a duo that’s traveled all across Latin America to see them and Mexican wrestler Axel “Nieto del Santo,” who shows up in full luchador regalia. You see the band meeting fans backstage and bassist Robert Trujillo describing the sheer force of the crowd’s enthusiasm from the moment they began the first concert. “IMAX! It doesn’t get bigger or cooler than that!” Lars Ulrich said about the movie in a press release. “For four guys in a rock band of average height, to get a chance to unleash their 3D film on IMAX screens the size of buildings across the country is a mind-blowing thought. ‘Hey look, Mom, I’m 50 feet tall (finally!)’ There is no better way to experience film and when you throw in the spectacle of music and sound this should amount to an unprecedented, unique and truly next level experience.”

Couple's Awesome Engagement Photos Are a Cinematic Delight
30 sep 2013 12:03

We’re not sure what decade you’re living in, but unless you’re using Photoshop to radically alter your engagement photos, you’re never going to get internet famous from a bunch of pictures. NEVER! One Redditor has learned from his predecessors (dinosaur wedding party, zombie engagement couple) that you don’t have to embarrass yourself in a Home Depot for a hearty splash of attention from the blogosphere — you just need to spend some time in Photoshop making something with lots of nerd appeal. It’s like the indoor kid version of a flash mob! Anywho, here are some pictures he made of himself and his soon-to-be wife in classic movie scenes.

An Oklahoma Boy Asked The News For Help To Push His Brother In A 5K
27 sep 2013 20:36

There are a lot of sporting events happening tonight — the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers battling for the final wild card spot in the American League, for example — but nothing is as important as a 5K race happening at Oklahoma City’s John Marshall Mid-High School, run by a 10-year old boy and his brother. Tobias Bass, 10, reached out to OK’s News 9 not for money, fame or a hand-out, but because he wanted them to ask their viewers if anybody had a jogger pusher he could borrow … because he wants his big brother, suffering from Cerebral Palsy, to run the race with him. He told the news about how sad it makes him when he sees his brother staring out through the window at kids running and laughing and having fun, and how he just wants him to experience what everyone else can. This kid is amazing and you can see every piece of his heart in the News 9 interview — hell, he wants to be an army pastor when he grows up so he can comfort men dying on the front lines — and I, like the news team and everyone else who hears his story, want him to have everything he needs. Check it out:

See Drake’s ‘Nothing Was the Same’ Album Cover with Crazy Hairstyles
23 sep 2013 12:00

When Drake debuted his evolution from childhood to manhood in an illustration on the Kadir Nelson-designed cover of his third album, ‘Nothing Was the Same,’ one of the most noticeably detailed aspects of the image is the hairstyles. One cover depicts the rapper as a baby with an afro, while the other artwork showcases the Toronto native with a low fade and deep side part. So what would happen if grown-up Drizzy received a few hair makeovers inspired by the likes of Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus and more? Here are some remixed album covers showing off the OVO leader’s new look courtesy of TheDrop.fm. Is it “too much” or does he “own it”? You be the judge.

The Origin Of Bodybuilding & Evolution Of Bodybuilders
23 sep 2013 11:54

The history of bodybuilding is relatively new in the grand scheme of things. Generally speaking bodybuilding began to be seen as a legitimate sport / fitness activity from as early as 1880. Eugen Sandow is known as ‘The Father of Modern Bodybuilding’, a true pioneer, he was able to build an audience around his physique – by paying a nominal amount, you were given a show whereby Sandow would flaunt his physique and take part of various strength building exercises. He soon realise that in order to keep the momentum going and hold the fickle publics interest, that he needed to expand his show beyond himself. And that’s when in 1901 he launched ‘The Great Competition’ now recognised universally as the worlds first bodybuilding contest. It took place on September 14, not in a gym or sports arena, but in the Royal Albert Hall in London of all places.

Replace Darth Vader's Voice With Young Anakin's And it = Comedy Gold
22 sep 2013 23:14

Imagine a galaxy far, far away, where Darth Vader‘s voice modulator malfunctions, and he’s left with the voice of his pre-pubescent self as played by “world’s greatest kid actor” Jake Lloyd. And now you know why ‘Phantom Menace’ had to be made. So that somebody could do this. Sure, not all the lines are great, but enough of them are that we think it’s worth the eight minutes. At the very least, jump to the 6:45 mark for some comedy gold.

Emails From the World's Most Demanding Bride
22 sep 2013 23:13

The concept of a “Bridezilla” has been taken to a whole new level. A series of emails written by a bride-to-be to her bridesmaids (and shared by one of the bridesmaids) will have you shaking your head in utter disbelief. The bride lays out some crazy ground rules and then tries to show a sense of humor, but, really, comes across as the kind of desperate lady who all the guys hide see and hide in the bathroom when it’s their time to chat with her during a speed dating event. From her obsession with everyone’s weight to her completely unforgiving stance on her bridesmaids’ hair to her need to call herself “The Queen Bee,” it’s clear the man who exchanged “I dos” with her has his work cut out for himself. Yes, they actually did get married. Here are just a couple of the guidelines the woman spelled out for her bridesmaids (the bold is her work, by the way):

Louis C.K. Explains Why He Hates Smartphones in Hilarious Rant
22 sep 2013 22:53

These days, smartphones are as much a part of our lives as the air we breathe, but don’t count Louis C.K. among the legions of people who like them. While appearing on ‘Conan,’ the comedian didn’t hide his disdain for smartphones. It’s an insightful (and funny) diatribe that you’re bound to recognize as having more than an ounce of truth. With all the sadness he claims life throws our way, it’s nice to get a chuckle.

Stylish Occult Posters Promoting Magicians From 1900s
22 sep 2013 22:35

He might not be a household name like say David Copperfield or Criss Angel, but in his day Harry Kellar was one of the more popular magicians of his era. Aside from baffling audiences with smoke and mirrors and a well timed sleight of hand, magicians had to promote and market themselves heavily in order to bring the crowds in. Once you reach a certain level, where your show was so utterly compelling that everyone was talking about you, then you could ease up and let your name sell the tickets for you – until that turning point, it was all about the marketing. One particular element that always captured the attention of the general public was the occult. Kellar was well-aware of the power of suggestion and ensured all of his promotional posters featured himself commanding or conjuring up devils and wicked imps. Buy a ticket to one of his shows and you too could have an audience with demonic and supernatural. So successful were the designs of the posters in promoting his show that when he retired his successor Howard Thurston continued to use the same elements. A different magician, but with the same talents and unique gifts to communicate with the underworld. The posters themselves date back the early 1900′s – Kellar retired in 1908, presumably to kick back, have a drink with Lucifer and count all his money. Others magicians tried to copy his imagery, including is “Miss Baldwin” who also has those mischievous red devils littering her tour poster. If you find these posters as interesting as we do, we recommend you get yourself a copy of Magic. 1400s-1950s. It contains around 850 rarely seen vintage posters, photographs, handbills, and engravings whilst wonderfully tracing the history of magic from the early 1400s through to the 1950s. After seeing these posters, would you also want to see a Harry Kellar show?

We recently looked at how beer actually saved the world, but that aside, is there any truth in the rumour that drinking beer actually makes you MORE creative? Surely not? A Cute Redditor Teaches You How To Make A Dress Out Of A Turtleneck

So here’s something weird/creative/interesting. You can find the full images complete with step-by-step instructions here. As much as I enjoy the ingenuity and overall oddness of a resourceful and fashion forward Redditor sharing how to turn a huge turtleneck into a dress I can’t quite bring myself to cut and paste the instructions. Besides, like most things on Reddit half the fun comes from the comments, where in this instance SarahPanda’s contribution has inspired random hairy dudes from around the globe to raid their own closets and share results. I’d include some of those here but they’re borderline NSFW thanks to pretty much everything about them. If you need me I’ll be adding this to my “tried and loved” section on Pinterest.

Watch Amy Poehler Impersonate Her Son Saying Spicy Salsa For Kimmel
18 sep 2013 13:14

Not so long ago I mentioned that Tina Fey should be the only person allowed to talk about her children. Well, my list has fittingly been expanded to two with the addition of best person ever, Amy Poehler. Last night real life Leslie Knope appeared in multiple segments on Jimmy Kimmel Live with the moment of moments coming in the above clip where she impersonates here uber bankable red haired son with a lisp getting tricked into saying “spicy salsa” over and over again. It’s funny because he doesn’t realize he’s being tricked into doing things for others’ amusement. That starts at the :55 mark. The rest of her appearance was almost as delightful, so let’s run through it… First there was Amy and Stephen Merchant pitching in on the monologue.

Ted Mosby Is A Big Ol' Slut
18 sep 2013 13:05

Ted Mosby: man whore. That’s according to the team at the Daily Beast, who put together a compilation of Schmosby’s many sexual exploits over the course of How I Met Your Mother, as told by the Mother to their kids. The video also insinuates that he’s a bad father, but we’ll get to that. As for the slut part: nope. Someone with a lot of time on their slap-betted-out hands deduced that over a 15-year span, Ted dated 31 women and had sex with 20 of them, including personal favorite Natalia. Those numbers might be a little high, based on false preconceived notions of “right” and “wrong” promiscuity, but they’re not at all unreasonable for a 30-something living in New York City. I’m sure the equally invidious Ross Gellar was nearly as successful in making women regret their life choices, to say nothing of the walking mistake that is Barney Stinson. But we’ll get to that.

It’s like ‘Animal House’ meets ‘Hackers’ meets ‘Punk’d.’ Gosh, they must’ve worked up a thirst. Good thing they had easy access to plenty of beer to reward themselves for a job well done.

Awe-inspiring Invention Could Clean World's Oceans In 5 years

Every year we produce over 300 million tonnes of plastic. Of this, over 7.25 million tonnes of it ends up in our oceans in the form of top-level floating debris – that’s 4.8 million medium-sized cars or 51 billion iPods floating around the ocean. This plastic breaks down into smaller pieces each year, poisoning the food chain and ultimately affecting the food we eat.

The Ultimate 8 Step Guide To Eating Japanese Sushi
18 sep 2013 12:35

If you haven’t eaten sushi before, you really should give it try. Not only it is delicious, it’s incredible healthy for you, low in fat and high in essential oils and vitamins. For centuries the Japanese have been eating sushi (raw seafood) but those easy bite size sushi rolls that many of us partake in today, first stated in Edo, Japan somewhere around the middle of the 19th century. At the time, they were seen as the ultimate fast-food, you could carry around a healthy snack without the need for plates and cutlery. In America it was the trusty chicken nugget, in Japan it was the nigiri and maki rolls – and fortunately NOT kittens, as this hilarious ad might cause you to believe.

A Retrospective On The Iconic Tattoos Of Yesteryear
18 sep 2013 12:32

In case you haven't noticed, from our numerous posts on tattoo's, here at LOLJam we are big fans of permanent skin ink. But they all have one common theme (regardless of how great or shocking they are) they’re all contemporary examples of tattoo art. The real question is, where did todays tattoo artists get their inspiration from? Who influenced their designs? And is the “new” truly groundbreaking or merely a homage for the tattoo masters of yesteryear? To answer the question truthfully, you’d have to go back to around the Neolithic times. The earliest example of a tattoo goes as far back as the fifth millennium BC when an Iceman was discovered in the Alps with 50+ tattoos in total across their spine, knee and even right ankle. They were simple dots or markings if you will, but evidence nonetheless that man has been styling his body for centuries. It would be nice if we could bring you a selection of the very best Neolithic tattoo trends, but let’s face it that’s going to be a tough ask (even for us.) So we’ve selected some of the most interesting, extensive and iconic ink work from as far back as the 1920′s along with the genuine characters who underwent hours of pain in the chair. Who knows, you might even find your Great Great Great Grandfather in amongst them all!

26 Gorgeous Women That Totally Define Retro Cool
18 sep 2013 12:20

Occasionally it takes a little bit of hindsight to realise just how good we once had it, how effortlessly cool and iconic we once were, without ever really trying. But in the modern era of constant selfies, cheaper cosmetic enhancements and a desire to be more shocking, controversial and scandalous thanks to reality TV – somewhere along the line we lost our sense of style and even class to an extent. It’s easy to forget that 1940′s swimwear use to look like this and beauty treatments in the 1900′s were certainly a lot more disconcerting than they are now. Sex appeal is vastly more invasive than it was say 50 years ago, our clothes becomes smaller and tighter, our bodies more sculpted and our quest for youth easier, of that there’s little doubt. But do we have the effortless grace and poise so apparent in previous generations? Who is our modern-day equivalent of Audrey Hepburn? Who shimmer with sultry charm of Marilyn Monroe? And have we let our standards drop along the way? Whilst we all have different answers to those questions and even though fashion and beauty are constantly evolving, you simply can’t deny classic beauty. The following 26 iconic photos are a reminder of just that, the very definition of retro cool.

Occasionally it takes a little bit of hindsight to realise just how good we once had it, how effortlessly cool and iconic we once were, without ever really trying.

10 Best Music Video Dances From 2000s

So many bar mitzvahs. Much of the song's popularity is tied into its impossibly perfect music video, which taught the word to "shake it like a Polaroid picture." In honor of Outkast's "Hey Ya!" let's take a look at 10 other classic dance moves that were popularized via music videos from the past decade. While listening to The Love Below, obviously.

Kate Upton Was The Star Of The U.S. Open

If you’re anything like me, you were completely oblivious to this weekend’s U.S. Open action, because you were busy laughing at Lane Kiffin’s coaching ineptitude on Saturday and then cursing Stevan Ridley’s stupid clumsy hands on Sunday. But if you’re a normal person who isn’t obsessed with the failure of others and fantasy football, you’re probably aware that Serena Williams won her fifth and second-consecutive U.S. Open title yesterday, while Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will play for the men’s championship today at 5 PM ET. Much more important those inconsequential tidbits, however, is the fact that Kate Upton took in some U.S. Open action on Saturday, as she was a guest in the Moet & Chandon Suite with Karolina Kurkova. It was part of a whirlwind weekend for the 2013 Model of the Year and With Leather’s Eternal Greatest Celebrity Sports Fan in the World, as she also attended the Daily Front Row's First Fashion Media Awards. I went ahead and included some photos from that, too, because I know you care.

Paul Rudd, Paul Giamatti Have Some Trees For Sale In 'All Is Bright'
09 sep 2013 14:47

I was going to include All is Bright in this week’s Pulitzer-worthy streaming and video on demand post, because it hits VOD tomorrow and I admittedly thought it looked like a typical, hokey Christmas movie, based on the typical, hokey promotional image. But the newest trailer for All is Bright reveals that it’s not all that hokey and typical, as much as it looks like a sweet, silly story of a scumbag dad trying to find a little redemption in the holiday season. Paul Giamatti stars as the aforementioned scumbag dad, and when he’s released from prison, he realizes that finding a regular job is pretty difficult in this crappy economy. Paul Rudd comes along and they decide to sell Christmas trees together in New York City, but it turns out to be harder than they expected, because they suck at it. Sort of like me and writing porn movies. Or simply writing.

Today, she performed a new installment of her new single 'Applause' on Good Morning America, and yes, it was indeed very Gaga-esque. In this particular performance, she had her faithful companion Fozzie with her playing as "todo" from the Wizard of Oz. Like always, you have to wait for the jaw dropper moment (or at least, everytime for me there is that =O face moment that I make). With out giving too much away, I'll just quote one of her songs:

Readers of LOLJam, and fans of Lady Gaga: did you think that I wasn't going to be on this story today?

Trailer for Woody Allen and John Turturro's FADING GIGOLO
08 sep 2013 23:43

Here's an entertaining trailer for a new film called Fading Gigolo, which stars Woody Allen and John Turturro. Here's where things get interesting... Allen didn't direct the movie, Turturro did, and it's very rare to get Allen to star in someone else's movie. But when you watch this trailer you'll see why Allen took the gig. This looks like a very well-scripted, funny film that audiences could enjoy. It is about a guy whose friend convinces him to become a gigolo for a little extra cash. It actually kind of feels like a Woody Allen movie, and here's the synopsis: Woody Allen plays as bookseller-turned-pimp to John Turturro's middle-aged neophyte hustler, in actor-writer-director Turturro's inspired left-field comedy. The premise is as inspired as it is absurd, and Turturro carries it off with his own affecting and surprisingly romantic vision of New York City. The film doesn’t have a U.S. release date yet, but it is set to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this September.

SUPER MARIO BROS. Real Life Parkour Awesomeness!
08 sep 2013 23:37

Mario can't seem to keep his hat on his head in this incredibly cool live-action video of him and his brother Luigi performing parkour stunts around a city. Some fun special effects have been included like fireball shooting, turtle stomping, and brick breaking. I've got to say, throwing yourself out of a parking garage window head first is a pretty ballsy move, but they pull it off gracefully in this video. Check it out!

Awesome STAR WARS: EPISODE III Concept Art Collection
08 sep 2013 23:19

Star Wars: Episode III was in my opinion the best of the prequel trilogy even though Darth Vader's Frankenstein "Noooooooooooooooo!" moment was absolutely ridiculous. Concept artist Sangjun Lee has released a really cool collection of concept art from the film showing off several awesome designs done for the production of the film. Love them or hate them, the prequels still looked great visually, and the art created for it is beautiful. Check out some of it below!

Jimmy Kimmel Uncovers Most Difficult Word In Pledge Of Allegiance
06 sep 2013 16:53

I’m not at all surprised that Jimmy Kimmel’s recurring stupidity on the street segment uncovered that just about everyone sucks at “The Pledge of Allegiance” (even though I don’t know a single person I wouldn’t be baffled to learn can’t recite it with a split second’s notice) but I don’t think I could have pinpointed the exact moment and word where everyone fails in their pledge to their country. That montage starts at the 1:35 mark. “Individual?” “Independence?” “Indivincible?” Also, dude at the 1:08 mark gets it.
