Start planning for a spicy Halloween Party. Try making a small but spice caramel apple at home. Regular caramel apples seem to be left un-finish, perhaps due to the large desert size granny smith apple trying to fit in one's mouth or the over abundance of that sooo sweet caramel sauce sticking to every corner of your teeth or the thing became a entire mess and was left as a disaster. In news that will make you go tear your hair out and punch a hole through your computer screen because nothing should ever be this cute, here’s a video of a couple of 11 week old exotic shorthair kittens rolling around in hamster balls. Even the description alone causes me an intense, violent reaction, but when the video starts, I just see red. The cutest red you can possibly imagine. In fact, it’s more of a pinkish really. So restrain yourself. Restrain yourself or you too will have to buy a new computer. And computers don’t come cheap! Which is why I’m typing this at the library.

Buddha is a cat. A cat that — how do I put this lightly? He’s uh, big boned. Plump. Hefty. Curvy. He’s got a little extra meat on his bones. Let’s just say he’s been well fed. Like, really really well. For a long time. Aw hell, who am I kidding this cat’s fat as hell. Morbidly obese. The big kitty has been put on an exercise regime that consists of walking on an underwater treadmill. It seems to be serving Buddha pretty well — he’s gone from a round 31.4 pounds to a svelte 27.9 pounds. His goal weight? About 20 pounds. But Buddha, by then you’ll just be skin and bones! Skin and bones and a lot of loose, furry skin.

Albinism (with its root in the Latin word albus, or white) is a form of hypopigmentary congenital disorder, characterized by a partial lack or total absence of melanin pigment in the eyes, skin and hair, or more rarely in the eyes alone. Due to this, animals (and humans too) with albinism are unusually pale. The eyes of an animal with albinism occasionally appear red because of the underlying retinal blood vessels showing through where there is not enough pigment to cover them. Some of the animals on this list are albinos, while others are simply members of rare white species. Whatever the case, mankind has been fascinated by such animals for ages. Some consider them to be sacred, and others – demonic. Exocoetidae, commonly called Flying Fish, is a family of fishes aptly named for their ability to emerge out of the water and glide for long distances with their outstretched pectoral fins. Their streamlined torpedo shape helps them gather enough underwater speed to break the surface, and their large, wing-like fins get them airborne. Once in the air, these fishes can glide over considerable distances. Their flights are typically around 50 meters, but some fishes have been recorded to fly up to 200 meters or more. Some species of flying fish have enlarged pelvic fins as well as enlarged pectoral fins, which allows them to fly further than two winged gliders (up to 400 meters), and have far greater maneuverability. These fishes are known as four-winged flying fish.

We brought him home and put him in a box. After spending a night in our bedroom, he woke us up with high-pitched tweeting. We tried feeding him, but without any luck, so we placed him in our balcony. He continued tweeting non-stop for 3 hours. Finally, his father found him and started feeding him. He brought his chick huge bugs and bread every 10-15 minutes all day long for two weeks straight. He was getting bigger every day, but he was still blind. I called a vet, and he told me to try simple eye drops. It worked like a charm! He even started hiding from us behind our flowers. Soon, his father started showing him how to fly trough the window. One day he just left – we knew this day would come eventually. We became really worried because that same night, and for the next few days, there was really stormy weather. However, 3 days later, he came back and fell asleep in one of our pots.

Though we've seen a lot of dog portraits in our time these might just take the cake as the most creative ever. Ron Schmidt is the person behind the company Loose Leashes, an online shop where he sells funny prints of our furry friends in wonderfully witty scenarios. Dog person or not, you can't help but fall in love with these photos. As he told Dogster, “All the images represent the freedom that a dog would have without someone holding its leash. These are the things dogs would do if no one was around and they had absolute freedom.” Though his past experience is in fashion and celebrity photography, Schmidt found his true calling by accident. After branching out on his own to pursue commercial photography, he found his niche when, one day, he decided to design a creative Christmas card for his family, friends and clients. Featuring his yellow lab Indy, the card didn't just show her pose in a traditional way, he had her carry a tree on her back. "It was a fun, conceptual image that was a big hit with everyone who saw it. Since I love dogs and photography, this worked out really well.”

Just like photographer Traer Scott and her heartbreaking portraits of shelter dogs, artist Mark Barone is trying to bring some much needed attention to the neglected animals in shelters. After learning that 5,500 shelter dogs are killed every day in the United States, he decided to paint 5,500 portraits of actual shelter dogs with names and the date that they were killed. Now two years into the project, Barone has painted more than 3,500 portraits which, for any dog lover, are incredibly hard to look at.

Colonel Meow, a Himalayan Persian cat who lives in Los Angeles, California, has set a Guinness World Record for “cat with the longest fur.” Three independent vets measured his fur at an average of 22.89 centimeters, or nine inches. Colonel Meow’s new record will be featured in the Guinness World Records 2014 book, which is set to release on September 12th. “We already knew that he was the best cat in the world, but to be recognised in the Guinness World Records book takes it to the next level,” Colonel Meow’s owner Anne Marie Avey said.

Its more of a basic bloody mary recipe, yet with one owns interpretations. Start with 16oz jar of ORGANIC tomatoes. Very important that they are organic for the flavor. If you are not into flavor, skip ahead for pretty pictures below. Tequila 6oz, one's preference, recommendations that it be gold. Being not a scientist, there are a couple of veg descriptions. Dash of each: Red pepper flakes, Cayenne pepper, White pepper, Black pepper, Smoked paprika, Celery salt and Salt. Choose only one of the following: Worcestershire sauce (classic), Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce, Olive Juice. Warning: be aware how much salt you add.
