Ōkunoshima – Bunny Island

Okunoshima is a small island located next to Hiroshima and accessible by ferry from Tadanoumi train station. The island was a poison gas factory during World War II and rabbits were used as test subject. At the end of the war, rabbits were set free.
There are now hundreds of bunnies all over the island, you see them as soon as you get off the ferry as they are very curious about visitors and they run to people hoping for some food.
