A Floating Forest To Be Installed In Rotterdam

On March 16, 2016, a floating forest of 20 trees will be launched in Rotterdam, Holland. Inspired by an art piece named “In Search Of Habitus,” by artist Jorge Bakker, local art collective Mothership is behind this more ambitious project. After conducting a successful trial in 2014, the group felt it was ready to move forward.

Floating See-Through Dome Lets Fish Look At The Outside World

Dutch company Velda is changing how koi see the world with their revolutionary Floating Fish Dome. When placed in a pond and filled with water, the $200 (130£) device allows fish to swim up above the surface and see the world. It is also possible to train your koi to be fed inside so you can further admire them.

Couple Spends 20 Years Building A Self-Sustaining, Floating Island

This floating fortress of sustainable living floating on the coast of Vancouver Island British Columbia goes to show just how wonderful a sustainable life off the grid can be. Wayne Adams, 66, and Catherine King, 59, built this floating home together in 1992, and have been growing and fishing for their own food ever since.

Portuguese Street Artist Creates Stunning 3D Graffiti

Odeith, an extraordinarily talented street artist based in Portugal, creates incredible works of street art that will fool your eyes into thinking that they’re floating 3D sculptures. His mastery of anamorphic art and perspective is truly mind-boggling.

Surreal Floating Room Sculptures by Leandro Erlich

Like a scene from a fantasy movie, a dilapidated room that appears to have been literally ripped out of a building remains suspended in mid air above Nantes, France. Its walls were torn apart, revealing bricks below the plaster, and wood floors reveal the joists inside. The floating room is accessible via a ladder. The gravity defying surreal installation is the work of Argentinean artist Leandro Erlich. The large-scale piece, called “Monte-meubles – L’ultime déménagement” (literally - The Furniture Lift – The Ultimate Moving Out), was created for the biannual Le Voyage a Nantes, an art festival which turns the entire French city into an art gallery.
