Artist Turns Pop Icons Into Lollipops

American Artist Matthew Carden creates “Pop Icons” from sugar and water. Who doesn’t love candy? Especially when it’s combined with our favorite pop icons! Now it can stick around forever in these giant limited edition prints. Darth Vader, Mickey, LEGO, even Hello Kitty, all in their sweet and sticky glory as lollipops.

Realistic Animal Lollipops By Young Japanese Master

Amezaiku, the art of making realistic animal lollipops, has been a Japanese tradition since the 8th century, but 26 year-old Shinri Tezuka is the young master making it famous again. There is no cheap or convenient way to mass produce the candy, and the artists have to endure painful heat when working the hot candy by hand.

Blue Cheese Lollipops

Lollyphile, the creators of Sriracha lollipops has created a new unexpected lollipop flavor: blue cheese. The whole thing started out as a joke and everyone at the company was scared to actually try them. But then on of their models tried it and ate the whole thing convincing the rest of the Lollyphile team to give it shot too. Turns out the combo of sharp cheese and sweet is actually pretty damn tasty. Kinda makes me wonder if I should have tried my nephew’s tuna/peanut butter/ice cream concoction. Sure, he vomited a LOT after eating it, but he also spun around 100 times afterwards so you never know.
