I would like to show you my recent photos of Fonyód-Alsóbélatelep beach at Lake Balaton in Hungary. The beach is ice-frozen. The strong wind and the cold icicles caused by the cold embrace the shore, offering a spectacular view for spectators. Apart from looking like a winter wonderland made of crystal glass, Lake Balaton is considered to be the largest lake in central Europe.

The winter in Moscow might be bitterly cold but it’s also be magical – especially if you see it through the eyes of photographer Kristina Makeeva. She was able to capture the city as if it were a winter wonderland. Her photo show locations such as the Red Square and the Kremlin, both blanketed in snow and bathed in colourful lights, with people milling about. It’s as if you were looking at images straight out of a fairytale!

New Zealand-based photographer Amos Chapple decided to go on a two-day journey from Yakutsk, the coldest major city on Earth, to capture what everyday life is like in Oymyakon.
