Golden Retriever puppies are one of the purest things in the entire world. And this one is no exception. Although she has one unusual characteristic that’s made her go viral. Rae is puffy, playful, super friendly, and an accidental injury at birth stole her left ear. What’s even more surprising, as she grew older, her right one migrated to the top of her head. After a woman named Sam shared a sweet video of Rae on TikTok, it immediately went viral.
The Golden Retriever is a medium-size doggo, famous for the dense, lustrous coat of gold that gives the breed its name. These pooches have friendly and intelligent eyes and when they move, they do so with a smooth, powerful gait, carrying their feathery tail, as breed fanciers say, with a “merry action”.
The American Kennel Club says that Goldens are generally healthy dogs, and responsible breeders screen their breeding stock for health conditions including elbow and hip dysplasia; eye conditions such as juvenile cataracts, pigmentary uveitis, and progressive retinal atrophy; and certain heart diseases, including subvalvular aortic stenosis.
Even though Rae seems to be perfectly fine living the unicorn life, her ear still needs a lot of care. Goldens suffer from ear infections quite often, so their owners should check whether their dogs have any signs of these pesky problems at least once every week.
