Possibly one of the best photorealistic painters in the world, the depth and detail of his work is astounding; not only are his paintings photographic in quality, they possess a kind of life to them. Morales uses himself, family and friends as subject matter. He does this so that he is able to better develop the psychological aspects within his paintings. “I want to show how the person is feeling in that moment… this is the most important thing for me”. But how does he create such incredibly detailed and realistic artworks? The secret, it seems, is more to do with blending and layering, rather than focusing on the details…

Now you might be the most prolific and talented musician of a generation but nobody is going to be listening to your talents if your album cover has the capacity to scare children and cause the majority of adults to launch into tears of laughter. In saying that, some of these hideous album covers from Yugoslavian musicians truly are the very definition of ‘so bad so good’. They are SO terrible, you can’t help but want to listen to them just to see if the music really is equal to the image on the front. They might be masterpieces for all we know. As for picking a fav? And we repeat this cycle until they are too outdated too worn to wear – we seldom actually have fun with our clothes. The same, however, cannot be said for Austrian photographer Bela Borsodi. From her private New York studio, she’s unleashed a selection of freakish faces, formed and folded entirely from fashionable clothes. Titled ‘Fashion Faces’ she’s taken designer jeans, jackets, shirts and sweaters and contorted them into unusual & somewhat grumpy faces. Even more impressive that her origami-esque skills is the fact she did all this without a single drop of glue or pair of scissors being needed. Her only tools were a vivid imagination, buckets of clothes and lots of trial and error. The result? Your laundry never looked so…..lifelike!

Get a Zombie Pet Plush. The huggable undead might bring them some sweet–yet still a little scary–cuddles by day, but turn the lights out and wait for the screams! Look at these things…they’re pretty gross looking. Choose from Bitey – a possibly rabid baby werewolf, Deadington Ruxworth – a stuffed bear, or Frostbite – an undead penguin.

Official Comedy uploaded the below video last Wednesday — the day of the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premiere — and I somehow indefensibly didn’t get around to watching it until today. I blame Rum Ham. But now that I have viewed it many, many times I can safely say it is incredible and belongs in a museum and fully endorse the show itself swapping it in for an episode. Saul Goodman 'Breaking Bad' Spinoff Is Happening (2 photo)

AMC’s neon shirt budget just skyrocketed, ’cause the Saul Goodman Breaking Bad spinoff is ON. After several weeks of negotiations, the basic cable network has inked a licensing agreement with Sony for the series’ next iteration. “As conceived, the new series is based on the show’s popular Saul Goodman character with the working title Better Call Saul,” the studio and network confirmed in a joint statement, adding: “plans call for Saul to be a one-hour prequel that will focus on the evolution of the popular Saul Goodman character [played by Bob Odenkirk] before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer.” The series will star Odenkirk, with writer/producer Peter Gould set to run the series as it was Gould who created the character back in season. Bad creator Vince Gilligan will remain involved, and noted in late July that it was his “fervent wish” that the spinoff would move forward. Had talks with AMC fallen through, there were several other distributors, including Netflix, that were set to pounce with rich offers. Like Bad, the series will be produced by Sony, where Gilligan spent several years under an overall deal. The showrunner has not yet re-upped, and has fast become the most in-demand showrunner in town. The news comes as Bad is set to ends its run in less than a month. She’s back! Former ‘SNL’ head writer, ‘Weekend Update’ hostess and Sarah Palin mimic extraordinaire Tina Fey will be back on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ if only for a night. Fey is slated to host the show’s season premiere on Sept. 28 with musical guests Arcade Fire. E! Online reports that following Fey’s triumphant return is none other than Miley Cyrus, who will turn in double duty as both host and musical guest on Oct. 5. Other guests on the long-running series include Bruce Willis as host with musical guest Katy Perry, as well as a rumored double-duty performance and hosting by none other than Lady Gaga. Considering how well Gaga’s video short with Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake, ‘Three-Way,’ went, we bet the New York City native will get all the ‘Applause’ she deserves.

I was going to include All is Bright in this week’s Pulitzer-worthy streaming and video on demand post, because it hits VOD tomorrow and I admittedly thought it looked like a typical, hokey Christmas movie, based on the typical, hokey promotional image. But the newest trailer for All is Bright reveals that it’s not all that hokey and typical, as much as it looks like a sweet, silly story of a scumbag dad trying to find a little redemption in the holiday season. Paul Giamatti stars as the aforementioned scumbag dad, and when he’s released from prison, he realizes that finding a regular job is pretty difficult in this crappy economy. Paul Rudd comes along and they decide to sell Christmas trees together in New York City, but it turns out to be harder than they expected, because they suck at it. Sort of like me and writing porn movies. Or simply writing.

Bruno Mars to Perform at the Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show (1 photo)

Bruno Mars has been offered a much coveted opportunity to perform during the 2014 Super Bowl Halftime Show, and considering Beyonce‘s performance last year blacked out the entire stadium and reunited Destiny’s Child, he has some big shoes to fill. The NFL announced the news yesterday (September 8) on the show ‘FOX NFL Sunday’ just before the kick-off and teased that Mars would be making regular appearances throughout the football season to tell fans what he has in store. (Basically, it’s a giant ploy to get people who don’t watch football to watch football. Yeah, good luck with that.) “The Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show is the most-watched musical event of the year,” the NFL announced in a statistic-filled statement. “More than 110.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year’s show.” The 2014 Super Bowl game will take place at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on February 2. Make sure to tune in for the halftime show, the commercials, the food and alcohol with family and friends and, least importantly, the football.

Good news world! You can officially stop talking about Miley Cyrus‘ VMAs performance and commence your chatter about her new music video ‘Wrecking Ball,’ which, as far as we can tell, is a how-to guide for getting a yeast infection. No, really. The teaser picture for the new single off ‘Bangerz’ was plenty of indication of what was to come as Cyrus did in fact ride a wrecking ball throughout the video, stuck to her all-white outfit scheme and lacked both pants and a bra the entire time. In the emotionally charged video, Cyrus cries, makes out with various instruments of destruction and even takes all her clothes off to writhe around on top of a giant wrecking ball. Which can’t be sanitary because that room is full of dust particles. Unless that’s a metaphor too.

Did you ever watch the gang on ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ and think “what’s wrong with these people?” Well, according to these toxicology reports, there is plenty going on inside their bodies to explain why they act the way they do. For example, Sweet Dee is made up of mostly margarita mix. Charlie is a mix of sixteen different toxins in his system, including spray paint and bleach. Mexican ephedra is floating around inside Mac and most of the gang is on crack. Fascinating stuff. Optical illusions are notoriously a lot of fun. You might be staring at an object, move an inch to the left and witness a whole new dimension or you might glance at something in the distance only for your mind to play tricks on you. It’s one of the few forms of art that is truly interactive and personalised, we all have the capacity to perceive the world around completely separately from each other and optical illusions are a great example of that process. The Science Gallery in Dublin, Ireland is currently hosting a new exhibition dedicated to the art of deception. It’s called Illusion and includes breath-taking artworks by artists Matt Kenyon, Gregory Barsamian Roseline de Thelin & Jonty Hurwitz - all of whom were researched by a chap called Paul Gleeson who is in fact an escapologist & magician! It takes one to know one as they say. Together the artists have created a world of shifting perspectives, sensory deception and dreamlike visuals designed to excite, confuse and above all – surprise. The footage is taken from the awe-inspiring Samsara movie, in this particular sequence our over zealous and greedy need for food whenever we feel like it has outpaced the capacity of the world’s ecosystem. Industry has had to step in to supply demand and it’s here the any sense of comfort, kindness and relief are cast aside in the name of demand, profit and producing as much food as possible. Here's an entertaining trailer for a new film called Fading Gigolo, which stars Woody Allen and John Turturro. Here's where things get interesting... Allen didn't direct the movie, Turturro did, and it's very rare to get Allen to star in someone else's movie. But when you watch this trailer you'll see why Allen took the gig. This looks like a very well-scripted, funny film that audiences could enjoy. It is about a guy whose friend convinces him to become a gigolo for a little extra cash. It actually kind of feels like a Woody Allen movie, and here's the synopsis: Woody Allen plays as bookseller-turned-pimp to John Turturro's middle-aged neophyte hustler, in actor-writer-director Turturro's inspired left-field comedy. The premise is as inspired as it is absurd, and Turturro carries it off with his own affecting and surprisingly romantic vision of New York City. The film doesn’t have a U.S. release date yet, but it is set to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this September.

During Edgar Wright's panel for The World's End at Comic-Con last month, the director showed off a really cool video created by Mike Relm called The Cornetto Megamix, and it features the audio and video from the three films that Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost have worked on together over the years: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End (collectively dubbed the "Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy"). Wright posted the video on his blog and said that it "might be my favourite re-edit of any of my work."
