A Red Tibetan Mastiff puppy has become the world's most expensive dog after being sold for almost $1.6 million. Tibetan Mastiffs thought to be one of the world's oldest breeds, and legend has it that both Genghis Khan and Lord Buddha kept them. More recently, however, they have become highly-prized status symbols for China's new rich. The dogs are thought to be a pure "Chinese" breed and they are rarely found outside Tibet, giving them an exclusivity that other breeds cannot match.

In this pictures taken in Brazilian town of Manaus, you can see a truck that weighed down with almost 28,000 pounds of paint tipped over as it tried to take a curve a little too fast. This worked out to nearly 3,000 gallons of what turned out to be very pleasant colors being spread all over the road. Check it out.

Sushi Cats (Neko-Sushi) by the Japan-based company Tange & Nakimushi Peanuts are a series of photographs of cute dressed up felines resting on top of sushi rice.
"Neko-Sushi is an extremely unusual life-form consisting of a cat on top of a portion of sushi rice.
Although several references have come down to us through history from various researchers and witnesses, their existence is still shrouded in mystery and actual sightings remain rare. There are several academics who have devoted their lives to the study of these creatures. According to a number of these, Neko-Sushi make use of gaps in space to come to us from an alternate dimension. Beyond these “gaps” lies the world of the Neko-Sushi in which, it is recently understood, lies the true identity of the cats that dwell with us here in the human dimension."

To make (nearly) all your Back to the Future fantasies come true, you can rent a street legal Back to the Future Time Machine DeLorean, a replica of the time traveling car used in the 1985 film. The rental is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota in warm season and in Las Vegas, Nevada for the cold season. Not to worry, this car “runs off regular unleaded fuel.”

Get ready to get dizzy watching this. The mind-boggling short video “Screengrab” by Willie Witte seamlessly and repeatedly transitions between a person’s hands and photos of the same hands. The action is so fast that it’s nearly impossible to keep up with what’s happening. Witte says he created the film without any digital trickery. Amazing!

One could say that Mother Nature herself played a leading role in these elegant artworks by Korean artist Yeonju Sung. Sourcing local produce and using her extensive imagination and sculpting skills she’s created ‘Wearable Foods’ a series of stunning dresses & outfits created entirely from different food groups. No needle and thread, exotic silk or tighlt wound wool, just plenty of tomaotes, bananas, eggs and chives fused together. It sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, but as you’re about to see her work is meticulously crafted and the results are stylish and at times awe-inspiring. “As time goes by, the food from my work do go through a progression of disappearance due to the nature of food and gets gradually changed into the hideous state fading its shape and color in the process. I drag out the types of images that can only exist in my mind and imagination into a reality and yet, it eventually disappears. I have physically made these images but they are the creation of illusion and ultimately what you see is the images of phantoms. “ You can find out more about the project, as well as see more graceful outfits from the collection via her official site: http://www.yeonju.me/

We’re huge fans of Spanish visual artist Nacho Ormaechea and his unique blend of street portraits & vibrant collages. He walks the streets of Paris photographing its locals shopping, listening to music or just crossing the street. Once home, he then turns their portraits into silhouettes, cramming in a variety of strange and usual scenes within the outline of the individual. The end result is a true feast for the eyes, with the luminous images inside the collage relating to the scene as a whole – it’s inventive, unique and (we think) looks fantastic. You can see more examples from the series as well as the latest projects Nacho is working on via his official website: http://lecarnetnoir.com/

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back – what can you say that hasn’t already been written about a movie that is now 33 years old, but still stands as one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever made? It cost a respectable $32M to make, but pulled in a mind-blowing $538M at the box office worldwide. Whilst three years ago the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress decided that the movie should be preserved for being “culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant.” Today it’s regarded (rightly so) as the darkest of the original Star Wars movies – with the saw-saw battle between good and evil often tilted in favor of the dark side.

It’s not first time that Google Maps has been reconfigured and subverted for the arts, but it’s certainly one of the more creative. David Thomas Smith is a visual artist currently living in Dublin who has just released his frankly stunning photographic series ‘Anthropocene’ – it’s received critical acclaim from all corners of the web and right so. The word ‘Anthropocene’ is actually geologic chronological term that serves to mark the evidence and extent of human activities that have had a significant global impact on the Earth’s ecosystems. Smith purposely didn’t randomly cobbled together a series of images, instead he meticulously selected each part of the world based on not only its visual appeal, but whether that particular area was economically, socially and even politically important. Just how much of a role had our culture, desires and values played in the development of these areas? Smith deliberated on each of those facets before transforming each area into re-imagined frontiers and beautiful symmetrical landscapes. Below are a few examples from this fascinating & complex series, you can see the full extent of his project as well as where it will be appearing next via his personal site

There's a lot to be happy about in music. Online streaming is finally starting to make sense, money is being made, and exciting new artists are popping up every day. But Lykke Li once said that "sadness is a blessing," so we try to balance out the positives with some negatives. Don't get too happy; there is still plenty to be depressed about.

If you’ve somehow made it this far and avoided the incredibly simple yet lulz-inducing internet phenomenon known as “face swapping,” you’re doing it wrong. To help you out, we’ve acquired some of the most important face swaps in music. Be prepared to be in awe, feel a bit frightened, and spend hours thereafter face swapping pictures of your friends (which they will hate you for).

UFC Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey graces the cover of ESPN the Magazine for the second time in her already storied career as a professional ass-kicker, this time as part of the Worldwide Network’s publication’s celebration of 15 years as a magazine. Man, I can’t believe that it has really been 15 years since the Mag started arriving at my home in terrible condition because it was bigger than my other magazines so the mailman needed to cram it into my slot… wait, that’s the story of how I was conceived. Anyway, like I said, this is Rousey’s second cover, as she made her first appearance on/in the 2012 Body Issue. Don’t remember that one? That’s okay, I’ve got it right here.

Magic Mike director Steven Soderbergh says that Channing Tatum’s dream of making a sequel to last year’s smash hit, Magic Mike, is now a reality and it is “pretty far along”. Unfortunately, Soderbergh will not direct Magic Mike 2, but he told PrideSource that he’s going to help out to make sure that the film is done correctly, because he thinks that they have a great and “hilarious” idea ready. When our boy C-Tates started talking about this idea, I passed it off like, “Aw, playboy’s just rappin’ all high cuz he B rollin’ in da Benjamins from all dat 21 Jump Skeet cheddah, right?” But as time passed and he kept talking about it, I thought, “Yo, dat crazy beeyotch is gonna do dis 4 realz, right?” And here we are, just two months shy of the one-year anniversary of Magic Mike’s release all over our chests, I mean, in theaters. Well folks, I think this kind of news deserves a good, old-fashioned Magic Mike GIF dance Party.

You had at me at Osama Bin Laden as Green Goblin. One of the more impressive illustrated projects out there today, be it Hiter-related or not, comes from Butcher Billy, who, in "The Legion of Supervillains," imagined what real-life bad guys, such as Stalin and Mark David Chapman, would look like as comic book evildoers. "Some might say all art is a reflection of the times we live in. If back in the day comics and movies were pretty naive and faced only as pure escapism, today's fiction has to evoke reality to create something truly meaningful... and frightening. This series is an experiment where a dictator, a psycho, a murderer (sometimes they are the whole package) or even a suspicious figure from real life is mashed with a comics bad guy - strangely related some way or the other with his counterpart." The depressing thing? Realizing that if the comic book supervillains were actually the ones threatening real life, the world wouldn't be such a bad place.

Artist Billy the Butcher combines the artwork of Marvel Comics with screenshots from their popular film adaptions in a collection called “The Superhero Media Crossover Project.” “It’s easy to forget how much the comic stylings of the 60’s and 70’s have inspired modern films and just how timeless those two-dimensional, spandex-clad superheroes can be,” Billy writes on his website. “This series replaces live action with the lines they were born from, interlacing cinematography with storyboard.” The result blurs the line between film and comic books. Check out a few examples of his work below.
