In his series titled “From Below”, German photographer Michael Rohde finds a new angle to look at things, and photographs the interior of the room from the floor going up.
Almost impossible points of view really amaze and disorient the viewer. Seems like every object crosses the boundaries of possibility. Michael creates these photographs by taking pictures of each item separately. Cupboards, shelves and chairs are then reassembled into a new single composition which gives an illusion of looking into a room from below.
It takes a moment for the eye to get used to this new angle and it challenges the perception of surrounding law’s of physics and understanding of the world. And that’s really the point of looking at things from a different angle.
