A group of divers outside Ørsta in Norway were visiting a WWII shipwreck 200 meters from the coast, at the beginning of this October. On their way back, Ronald Raasch and Nils Baadness together with their team members from the research group REV Ocean discovered a mysterious floating shape. The blob that was captured on camera was floating 17 meters below the sea surface. Turns out, the pair of divers had discovered a 10-armed squid egg’s sac.

It may come as a surprise, but knitting and war have a lot more in common than one may think. In many countries including the United States, wartime has almost always involved knitters. Back in the day, women were encouraged to support troops from home by knitting socks and hats for them. However, even though knitting has been always associated with an innocent hobby of older ladies, during conflicts, it became much more than that.

Romanian artist Adrian Borda doesn’t play any musical instrument. But that doesn’t mean he can’t use them to mesmerize us. As an artistic experiment, Borda has started shooting them from the inside, and the view from within is just as mystical as the notes that come out from there.

Ever heard of an aardwolf? If the answer is no then prepare yourself for the cutest animal you never even knew existed. It comes from the same family as the hyena, which explains why they look so similar, but unlike their bone-chomping cousins, aardwolves prefer to munch on termites, much like an aardvark (the word “aard” actually comes from the Dutch word “aarde” by the way, which means earth).

Some facts just sound too good, or too bizarre, to be true. It's funny how strange our world really is when you stop and think about it. Like, did you know there's a Banyan tree out there that's bigger than your average Walmart? Uhhh... what? How is that even possible?

There are some artists that just stand out from the rest. What makes Tom Eckert’s art so special is its weightless quality (and something that’ll take you a few moments to notice). His pieces typically focus on a surreal scene that usually features cloths and linens. At first, you might not be impressed. When you realize what his work really is, you may be more taken aback.
That’s because Tom is a sculptor, and every single one of these delicate pieces is made entirely out of wood.

It is also believed to have magical properties for the curing of problems concerning blood, apparently because of its close resemblance to blood. The name bloodwood for these trees stems from the dark red to brown sap that accumulates on...
