Rick is homeless and his pitbull Karma is his best friend. When Rick saw that Karma had fallen into a dirty river he risked his life to save Karma's. Rick ended up with a nasty infection but he didn't care. All he cared about was that his dog was safe.
When Rick, who is homeless, realized he'd have to go to the hospital, he dropped Karma off at the Villalobos Rescue Center so he could ensure that she'd be getting food, water, and top-of-the-line care while he was on the mend. When he didn't return after two weeks, the rescue center began making arrangements to find Karma a new home. Luckily, for both Karma and Rick, he was able to come back to the rescue center just in time.
