Last week, as we remembered those who secured victory in Europe 70 years ago, 92-year-old veteran Joy Lofthouse was in the skies one last time.
During World War II, Joy, from Cirencester in the UK, was one of only 164 badass women who made it into the Air Transport Auxiliary.
She transported planes from their factories to airbases across the UK and Europe, keeping the war effort going. These brave 'Attagirls' were given only half an hour to familiarize themselves with planes before take-off and as a result, one in six become a casualty.
Last week, Joy was given the chance to return to the skies in her favorite aircraft - the Spitfire
