Contemporary artist are known for pulling no punches and expressing what the voiceless are saying. In recent history know artist ahs done this on a grander scale than Ai Weiwei.
The Chinese artist came up in the 80's New York punk scene and began to make waves throughout the 90s and the early oughts. He made so many waves that he was even 'disappeared' in his home country, and finally released and put under house arrest for tax evasion.
This has not stopped the outspoken artist, and he is currently embarking on a tour of the USA. We look forward to seeing his retrospective.
