Maybe you're starting to feel those holiday fruitcakes bursting out the top of your favorite skinny jeans. Maybe you're starting to inherit those "thick" genes that you were so afraid of. Or maybe you just really want to be healthy this year. Well, you won't be able to do it without a little effort. Fitness is on almost everybody's New Years Resolution list, but hardly anyone maintains their habit, and we often find outselves wishing we had when June comes around and what's her name looks great in that two piece swim suit. Here's some good tips on sticking to your routine:
1. Get some work out clothes you actually WANT to wear. Most women fear that neighborhood jog simply because of peer pressure. They don't feel attractive in their "workout clothes," otherwise known as sweats and a baggy tee. Well, duh! You look like sh**! Fitness clothes serve a purpose! So, stop slobbing around the block and get yourself a pick me up, ready to rock outfit that you'll be proud to strut up and down Main Street.
2. Take your sneakers out of the closet & put them by the front door. Believe me, you'll feel guilty every time you see them and knowingly didn't go for that run.
3. Ignore the cupcakes. Women tend to use food as a reward. Don't. You're not 5 years old.
4. Even if it's snowing, you'll have your mat to keep you warm. No matter what the weather, don't forget to get your blood pumping. If you live in an apartment and don't want to disturb your neighbors with jumping jacks or running in place, go for a good pilates DVD set. This is perfect for the chubby belly winter months.
