Almost every middle class American has paid a visit to the Dollar Store. There are some useful on-the-go things you can get at such stores, but most of it proves to just be cheap surplus from unsuccessful factories in China. But there is also food in those stores. Many Americans on a low budget will purchase these $1 or less items to consume at home. Let's take a look at some of the gruesome things Americans stuff themselves with in order to "save on the groceries."

I'm pretty sure cheese doesn't naturally come in this color OR stay good for long enough to be bought at room temperature from a 5 month old shelf.

These frozen pork filets are a truly humiliating sight.
Frozen chicken drumsticks that have been in tow for... well, who really knows how long? That chicken could have died years ago!
