DuDug is an international street art collective that has taken over an abandoned ship on the beaches of Llanerch-y-Mor in North Wales, repurposing its deserted carcass as a large canvas for their graffiti art project referred to as The Black Duke. The once highly revered cruise liner known as the Duke of Lancaster was left to rust on a dry dock since 1979 and only finally approached and transformed by these group of artists last year.
The ghost ship is a continuously evolving spectacle, currently adorned with eight lively large-scale works that include contributions by Lora Zombie, Fat Heat, and Fin DAC. The tight community of creatives plan to cover the ship with art with the hopes of not only drawing attention to and informing the public about the rich history of the ship (which they go into great detail about on their website), but to birth a new tourist attraction in the area.
