Upcoming Mexican artist José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros puts a deliciously devious twist on those famous Disney characters that graced everyone’s childhood. Appropriating beloved Disney heroes and heroines in his latest exhibition titled “Disenchanted”, Ontiveros places them in the darker human realities of voyeurism, vanity, perversion and addiction. The strength of time-honored iconoclasm and the weakness of haphazard ideology awkwardly sitting side by side – just don’t let your kids see them.
