Remember that scene in The Terminator movies where Sarah Connor erriely declares “And then…..then the machines became self-aware and the fate of mankind was thrust into darkness as they waged war on us all.” Now don’t freak out, we still have a long way to get to that scenario! BUT in 2011 whilst the arrival of Siri for the iPhone could be seen as the first step towards this process even more impressive is the arrival of a robot called Qbo. Today was the first time he saw what he looked like in the mirror, below is his response and reaction. Robots becoming “self-aware” is now a reality.
