If you love sweets then you will definitely like seeing this recreation of the London skyline. Created by Chris Naylor, the piece is composed of 2,186 sugar cubes and weighs almost 30 pounds. It was developed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Museum of London Docklands. Actually 210 years old, the Museum of London Docklands building was one of several built by London sugar merchants. It is one of just two that survived a slew of massive fires in 1940. The building was recently restored and established as a museum just 10 years ago.
Beautiful sculpture made of sugar cubes
With a pile of sugar cubes by his side, Chris Naylor produced this incredible tribute piece across the course of three days. He chiseled away at the sugar, shaping each piece with a a stanley knife before gluing it perfectly into the scene with a glue gun. He said, "I could spend 15 minutes carving a perfect curve into a cube, only to have it crumble into dust. I must have inhaled my week's supply of sugar in the first afternoon." The landscape includes St. Paul's Cathedral, the London Eye, the Gherkin, and Tower Bridge.
