Reder Hoekstra is a Dutch artist who has caught my attention with his absurd, super creative, weird and beautiful work. This is the gist of his inspiration, "I'm inspired by the world and reality I see around me. How does it all work, what is truth? My mind floats through landscapes and dreams, and from it, new machines, creatures and things find life." Try and see what thoughts and feelings each of his pencil drawn pictures provokes. I'll write my thoughts on each, since I couldn't find their names.
This could represent the masks people wear when they're out in the world, and how complicated they really are once they take them off.
Well besides being a cool looking transformation, this picture could also mean a bond between people and animals, a harmony of our world.
The juicing of the brain. To me this means: all of our experiences, thoughts, and feelings.
Horse power represented in a very artistic way, I can't think of a deeper interpretation.
This is one of my favorites, and it pretty straight forward. "Animal cruelty to make peoples superficial needs met."
A bouquet of creepy crawlies on your head. May be this is showing all of peoples negative thoughts, issues and the chaos within. I think there's a saying that goes something like "everyone's got their own bugs".
Twins in a heart. May be this one's about the love a mother holds in her heart and the connection that she never looses to her children.
I couldn't relate to this one much, the first thought I had was, that it might represent the burden some animals have to carry because of people. Such as horses, working elephants, bulls, camels, donkeys etc.
Brain cake. If you look at the significance of the cut, it could mean some kind of emotional or mental trauma, and the candles represent the person still holding on to hope, and enjoying life.
This is simply Love.
