Vault Hunting with Borderlands 2 [Review]
18 dec 2012 12:09
There's plenty to laugh at in Borderlands 2, especially if geek humor is your second language. Handosome Jack, [antagonist] although quite a douche bag, keeps players giggling as they shoot through each level. Many of the old characters from the first Borderlands are revisited too. Scooter, [my personal favorite] always shows up to make you giggle, kind of like you catch a cold, if you know what I mean. Incessantly. Every time you die, the Hyperion corporation comes up with an infinite array of jokes. It's safe to say, that if you haven't picked this one up yet, time to run to the store. Let's highlight all the cool things that the creators of Borderlands did right.

Battles in Parlliaments

While it's a common saying that politics is dirty business, some politicians get down and dirty to prove just how chaotic it just can be. The recent years have seen several lawmakers trying to put their point across not through diplomacy but by engaging in bloody brawls that unfortunately for them are captured by the cameras for the world to see. While some politicians take to hurling abuses at each other, many have been seen throwing violent punches and in some instances even themselves at the opposition parties.

Another Hobbit House

It has all the features of a proper hobbit house – rustic craftsmanship, country charm, and the famous circular doors with the knob squarely in the middle. But this real-life house is worlds away from the Shire, and isn’t even in Middle Earth. Instead, the stone cottage is nestled into Chester County, surprisingly near Philadelphia, in Pennsylvania.

Interesting Russian Development
18 dec 2012 07:33
This is a unique development of Russian scientists for the army of the country. A new assault bulletproof shield was called “Zabor” (“Fence”) which could be probably also listed in this post of today. This powerful shield has a 5-class protection and can stop bullets of AKM, SVD, and even fragments of grenades, however it is rather heavy – 50 kilograms (110 lb).

The Fascinating Hyena Men Of Nigeria By Photographer Pieter Hugo
17 dec 2012 14:34
The locals of Nigeria know these men as Gadawan Kura (rough translation: ‘hyena handlers/guides’) but portrayed by Nigerian press as little more than a group of shady body guards, bank robbers, drug dealers and debt collectors – there has always been a tangible sense of myth and mystery surrounding the existence of “the hyena men of Nigeria”. Their origin is a mystery, and so is what they do to tame these hyenas. Their lifestyle is quite unique. Anyone want to tame Hyenas as a hobbie?

Hipsters Travel Back In Time To Bring You This!
17 dec 2012 12:47

Some NY hipsters went back in time with their Hipstamatic iPhones and began to document what life was like in the 70s and 80s New York. Or, maybe, some hipsters were going through old crap to 'find' some art work. These pictures are what they found. I guess any way you tell the story, the bottom line is that the 70s and 80s in New York life was crazy.

You can feel the sense of uneasiness in these pictures, including the ferocity of being on the public transist, even in the black and white photos. I like best that you can sense the analog, print feel, even on your computer screen. Hipstamatic filters sure are getting better :P

What story do you think these pictures are really telling?
