Airports aren’t too much fun at the best of times, least of all when your flight is delayed or cancelled and you’re trapped in a realm of fluro lighting conceret floors and uncomfortable seats for hours on end. There’s only so many times you can circle the duty free section after all, so it’s no surprise that people try their best to get some sleep, because when you’re going through different timezones – every little bit helps.
The trouble is, airports around the world don’t cater to people who are looking for a quick nap. You can’t leave the terminal and you have to wait by your gate – which usually means having to sleep on the floor or configuring your limbs into a postion where they don’t go numb on a spare plastic chair. Either way, it’s hardly luxury.
