Spike Lee has been pretty outspoken with his opinion on Tarantino's new flick, Django. Although he hasn't actually SEEN the movie, he is calling it outright "disrespectful to [his] ancestors." Really, man? It's just a movie. And if Tarantino was really a racist, would he make Samual L. Jackson's career golden with his Pulp Fiction? Probably not. He probably would have used Bruce Willis or some other bald white guy. So Spike, save it.
Spike also had a problem with Tarantino's Jackie Brown (1997), where S. Jackson played a drug dealer while Deniro rocked a jailbird. Who's racist now?
Despite all the good reasons to watch Django (for example, to prove that it's NOT racist, but rather just another bloody movie), Spike Lee refuses to see his competition's flick. Maybe Spike is jealous? What do you think?
