Raia has been deaf and unable to hear the world very clearly for most of her life. It wasn’t until the age of 21 when all of that changed after undergoing surgery for a cochlear implant. Once she was all healed Raia went to the doctor to turn it on the for the very first time. Watching Raia hear the daily sounds that the hearing community takes for granted, let alone her mother’s voice for the first time, will make you cry!!
