Diets don't work! Spelt out simply by a woman fed up with American's dieting obsession.
"Diet", I hate that word. It is an evil word that deserves to be crushed by the collective fat being lipo'ed out of every American who doesn't understand why cheese burgers are a bad meal choice, when consuming them 6 to 7 nights a week.
When Super Mario eats a mushroom he grows bigger, but when he's hit by a bad guy, he shrinks back down. The same concept applies to diets. Diets promise as long as you eat the "mushroom", you'll loose weight, but temptation is a dubious temptress, and soon old eating habits (the bad guys) will return as you find yourself missing cheese burgers and chocolate after 3 months without 'em. Lifestyle change in my opinion is the only solution to loosing the weight, keeping it off, and still enjoying the experience of eating.
Here a list of helpful shoves in the right direction. Lets prevent you from dying from heart disease at 32!
-Go to a damn library, or use the internet to research proper nutrition rather than browsing Facebook* or Reddit all the time. Find out the amazing power of vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, lean protein, and water!
-If your perception of healthy eating is rock hard brain muffins and bland iceberg lettuce salads, no wonder you hate the idea. Learn how to prepare a few staple items to build your skills in the kitchen, maybe even purchase a cookbook! Youtube is chock full of cooking tutorials for those who learn better with visuals.
-There are plenty of snacks and meals that don't even require cooking.
-Try switching to whole wheat bread, and building a veggie sandwich. Use lunchmeat as an accent to your sandwich, rather than the main even.
-Hummus or salsa is a hell of a lot more delicious than ranch dressing when reaching for something to dip your carrots it.
-Eat a small potion of trail mix (stray away from the kid stuff that's full of peanuts and chocolate) or almonds as a snack between breakfast and lunch.
-Prepare a lean salad (no cream dressing, don't drown in bacon) with anything but iceberg lettuce, and lots of veggies.
-If you're vegetables come out mooshie in the steamer, don't be embarrassed to look up cooking instructions.
-Learn how to cook a few staple item like whole wheat pasta, polenta, brown rice, a few grains, steamed or sautéed vegetables, grilled chicken, or scrambled eggs.
Shrink those stubborn fat cells while training your body to crave healthy fats, leaner proteins, veggies and fruit. get out and walk 15-30 minutes 4 to 5 times a week if you hate exercise. You can't avoid it. Take responsibility, and stop looking like an idiot drinking your Slimfast shakes, and popping weight loss pills.
