China's Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo turns the traditional zoo inside out, putting the visitors in cages and letting the animals roam the park.
The zoo has lions, Bengal and white tigers, and bears, all of which get up close and personal with the zoo's wire-mesh people-carriers.
Fresh meat and occasionally live chickens will be handed out from holes near the top to attract the beasts.
It has to be a unique experience. You don't get to see a tiger climb up beside you when you're at a typical zoo.
The park runs buses as well as the wire-mesh trucks, like this one being given an inspection by a sun bear.
"We wanted to give our visitors the thrill of being stalked and attacked by the big cats but with, of course, none of the risks,” zoo spokesperson Chan Liang told Oddity Central.
“The guests are warned to keep their fingers and hands inside the cage at all times because a hungry tiger wouldn’t know the difference between them and breakfast.”
However, you have to wonder why the tops of the cages don't have a tarp.
Although it seems like a tragedy and a lawsuit waiting to happen, the park has been a huge hit.
“It’s nothing like I’ve ever experienced in a zoo before,” said recent visitor Tao Jen. “We’re not looking at them, they’re looking at us — and we’re lunch.”
It's definitely not a petting zoo, but it's about as close as you can get with these animals!
