…and here are the final touches!
Mave from Zamboanga City undertook the project when he learned that his sister wanted to attend her school’s Junior and Senior prom in February. However, ball gowns are incredibly expensive and their family couldn’t afford to rent one.
So Mave took it upon himself to make her happy, literally crafting the solution with his bare hands. He even painted part of the dress to create a unique and stylish piece of clothing! The prom happened on Valentine’s Day, so the dress was a perfect example of brotherly love for the occasion.

The brother even joked that he’d avoid getting married just so he could support his sister in the future. Mave drew inspiration from ball dresses, “especially Michael Cinco’s spring and summer collection.” According to the brother, some people helped him out financially so he could buy the materials needed to finish the dress.
Funnily enough, Mave isn’t a designer by trade. He told curious internet users that he was studying culture and arts education at university. He also revealed that it took him around a week and a half to finish the dress.
Unfortunately, Mave’s sister didn’t win the Best Dress award at the school prom. But they were both happy with the end result. Even though some internet users commenting on the dress suggested that it would have looked better with a few minor changes.
