Piggy in a Wheel Chair
07 feb 2013 17:00

"Chris P. Bacon" is the name of an adorable little 4 lb. piglet who has no use of his back legs.

Thanks for veteranarian Dr. Len Lucero, he can now get around on a dog style wheelchair that was custom built out of K’NEX pieces. According to the Toronto Star, Lucero acquired Chris P. Bacon from a young lady who brought the handicapped piglet to his place of work (Eastside Veterinary Hospital in Florida) and did not know what to do with him.

Watch Chris P. Bacon in action in the videos below or follow his challenging journey via Facebook and Twitter!

If there is one complaint that viewers have, however, is that the wheels seem too light for Chris. However, the vet has since weighed the wheels down by about two pounds, and the wheels work better now. At some point, he will graduate to a larger wheelchair donated by the group known as Handicapped Pets.

The Sweet Revenge!

Recently, photographer, diver, and shark expert Chris Fallowsshot some truly amazing photographs of a large Cape fur seal hunting and eating several blue sharks off the coast of South Africa.

He says, "It may be that there are not many photos of this happening, but that doesn’t mean sharks cannot be part of a seal’s normal diet. Cape fur seal can weigh up to 700 pounds. It’s a question of size. If you are smaller than me, I will eat you."

In either case, it's pretty awesome that this actually happens in nature!

Pairs of Commonly Confused Animals
28 jan 2013 10:18

It’s a situation familiar to almost everybody: the slowly creeping doubt that sets in when, for example, the gift left by a cat on the doorstep could be either a frog or a toad—or when the animal devouring your little brother looks like a cheetah, but seems to be acting like a leopard. At moments like these, we’ll usually find ourselves in the company of someone who claims to know the difference. That someone is clearly wrong—but we’d be hard-pressed to say exactly why we think so. Until now:

Illegal Exotic Pets!
12 jan 2013 16:05

Although exotic animals are illegal the laws aren't adequate enough for the government to interfere most of the times, and people find ways to acquire them! This is a big issue, and is very unethical and cruel. These animals aren't meant to be confined, they are unpredictable and they are a danger to the owners and anyone else around them. Too often irresponsible, selfish people buy them impulsively and then get rid of them by either killing or giving them up to animal control where they might get euthanized or live the rest of their lives in a small cage! Anyway, this is Here's a list of popular exotic pets. Gorgeous or adorable as they might be, lets leave these beasts in the wild.

Dogs With Separation Anxiety, Chapter 2
31 dec 2012 11:55

When you go to work, so does you dog... on your apartment! If your dog suffers from separation anxiety, you're probably used to seeing this at home. But don't worry, you are not alone! And there are some steps you can take to help prevent these potentially dangerous habits! 1. Leave your dog some laundry so he has your scent. 2. Leave the music on. There's plenty of albums on Spotify when you look up "Music for dogs," or else just play Mozart. 3. Have a special chew toy that they love & ONLY give it to them when you're not home. Take it away when you get home. 4. Leave them some fresh air if possible. Just crack a window (only if it's out of reach).
