Dog Owners Wearing Clothes Made From Their Pet’s Fur
15 jan 2013 10:09
If you’re torn between wearing fur and loving animals, the dispute has already been settled. The pictures by French photographer Erwan Fichou prove that you only have to love your pet long enough… to be able to wear it later! The dog owners in the photos below would pet their buddies so much that they could collect enough of their fur to spun it into yarn and knit a sweater from it. We assure you that none of the wool-producers have been harmed in the making of the sweaters, and all of them pose happily with their owners. For those interested in this, there are even step-by-step manuals on knitting sweaters from your dog’s fur on Amazon. What do you think? Would you wear the fur of your dog?

Amazing Camel Hair Art at Bikaner Camel Festival
14 jan 2013 10:11
Every year, in the month of January, thousands of visitors flock to Bikaner, India for the Camel festival. Desert region’s folk dances and music, add on to what is otherwise an exclusive camel affair. Camels fascinate tourists from all over the world with their movements, charm and grace. A spectacle of unusual camel performances: camel races, camel dances, and the bumpy, neck shaking camel rides. [1] The festival starts with the procession of beautifully decorated camels, a competition for best decorated camel, fur cutting design, camel milking and the best camel hair cut. On the second day, the fleetest camels of the region take part in the camel races. Photographer Osakabe Yasuo says that camel hair artwork can take up to three years to create. For the first two years, the hair is grown, trimmed and prepped. For competitions, the hair is then trimmed into intricate patterns and dyed for the dramatic effect you see below.

Illegal Exotic Pets!
12 jan 2013 16:05

Although exotic animals are illegal the laws aren't adequate enough for the government to interfere most of the times, and people find ways to acquire them! This is a big issue, and is very unethical and cruel. These animals aren't meant to be confined, they are unpredictable and they are a danger to the owners and anyone else around them. Too often irresponsible, selfish people buy them impulsively and then get rid of them by either killing or giving them up to animal control where they might get euthanized or live the rest of their lives in a small cage! Anyway, this is Here's a list of popular exotic pets. Gorgeous or adorable as they might be, lets leave these beasts in the wild.

40 Breathtaking Bird Photos By John & Fish
10 jan 2013 09:01
Birds are social animals – they communicate using visual signals, calls and songs, participate in social behaviors including cooperative breeding and hunting, flocking, and mobbing of predators. Unfortunately, we rarely get to see these fascinating moments of their lives, but thanks to photographers we can finally get closer to them (especially with big, heavy 500mm lenses running for between $5,000 and $9,000). Meet Johh&Fish - one of the most popular ornithology photography teams around Flickr. They are brother and sister living and working together for over 20 years, however their photography career started only in 2006.

Thankfully the site listed, PuppyLift.com, forwards to a site promoting Nick Kroll's new Comedy Central sketch series, Kroll Show, and not actual canine facial reconstruction. A similar billboard was spotted last month in LA.

Cat Transit System for a Home Office
09 jan 2013 09:13
Do you remember the Pipeline Fish Tank we listed in the collection of the most unusual and creative aquariums? This cat transit system is based on exactly the same idea, but this time it’s dedicated for our feline friends. Architecture firm Because We Can, led by interior designer Jillian Northrup and her husband architect Jeffrey McGrew, had to turn an under utilized room in a private residence into a highly functional and inspirational place to work from home. Besides turning the room into a splendid mad science lair, they also made what Northrup calls “the fist step to greater cat mobility throughout the room”.

Can You Spot the Hidden Animals in These Photos by Art Wolfe?
09 jan 2013 09:12
There’s one thing you keep thinking while going through Art Wolfe’s animal camouflage photographs: how on earth did he spot them himself? The amazing “Vanishing Act” project gives you the feeling that there’s no human presence in the photos whatsoever, as the Washington-based artist captures real-life animal camouflage skills. Art, aged 61, started this project back in 1989 and published it in 2005, but still finds things to add to it: “This collection has been a long time in the making,” he says, “I’m still adding to the project even now.”
