It’s not every day that you look up at the trees in the local park and see a gigantic 3D gargoyle head staring directly back at you.
But then again, if you’re French visual artist Clément Briend, that’s the norm. His visual series aptly titled ‘Legends’ involves projecting & inserting 3D renderings of iconic historical characters into modern day surroundings.

This simply awe-inspiring sculpture is the work of iconic Korean artist Do Ho Suh and is currently on display at the New Orleans Museum of Art in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. It stands a staggering 23ft tall and is comprised from 98 individually cast stainless steel figurines – each piggy-backing the other, eyes covered as they rise up into the sky.
He’s titled the work ‘Karma’, a metaphor that perhaps the mistakes of the past will always be repeated without vision? How you perceive his work is entirely open to your own interpretation, but what isn’t in any doubt is just how commanding & majestic this work of art truly is.

You can’t deny that Daft Punk’s ‘Robot Rock’ is one hell of a tune.
But today we’re going to go one better. Rather than just a video called ‘Robot Rock’ about how about a video of robots actually rocking out? Sound unlikely? Well, it’s already happened my friend.

Robots are taking over the world aren’t they? They’ve open up their own restaurant in China and even started forming their own rock bands. Well, now you can add ‘Writing their own movie scripts’ to the list too.
Please welcome to the stage Cleverbot - currently one of the world’s most advanced computers in terms of its ability to hold a conversation with you. Deep within its circuitry is an algorithm that was created by scientist & all-round genius Rollo Carpenter. It’s not new either, having been on the web for around 16 years. But during that time it’s captured, analyzed, adapted and processed over 60 million interactions & conversations with us mere mortals. A lot of us it seems, love talking to a computer.
It turns out that when you look at a big enough pool, generally speaking we have similar answers to the same questions. It’s these answers that Cleverbot pieces together to have a debate and genuine conversation with you. The more use it, the better it becomes a responding.

“The world’s most crooked street” is a contested title. While most publications recognize the Lombard Street in San Francisco, California, as the one having the most bends and turns, Ripley's Believe It or Not had once recognized Snake Alley in Burlington, Iowa, as “the Crookedest Street in the World” after Robert L. Ripley saw the street in person in the 1940s. The idea was novel enough, however, San Francisco's Lombard Street beats it by several turns.

Who knew that Nigeria has a film industry that actually makes more movies per annum than America’s Hollywood? Well I certainly didn’t but it is apparently it is the second largest film producing industry in size! Nollywood produce about two thousand films every year. Films are shot using digital technology, take roughly 10 days to complete and range in cost from $20,000 to $40,000 each. Of course, there is no time for rehearsals.

And The Wind Blows Over You is an installation of giant scattered leaves by Finnish sculptor Kaarina Kaikkonen. Each of the sculptural pieces, made of paper and fiberglass, emulate the earthy colors, veiny texture, and free falling lightness of browned leaves that have ran their course on trees. Naturally withering and breaking free of their branches, each crunchy leaf finds itself floating to the ground where it can offer itself back to the earth as mulch, completing its cycle.

Hamburg, Germany-based artist Moki finds inspiration in Japanese artist Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away) as well as in nature. Her acrylic paintings are filled with northern landscapes or as she describes more specifically as "isolated Scandinavian and Icelandic terrain, a subarctic frozen lake continent, untouched caves and moss meadows, and mountains sculpted into anatomical shapes by wind and water." She merges humans with nature, cloaking them in lush green meadows or a flowing river of water.

American tourists captured a rare and unusual sighting in the Gulf of California.
A fishing boat moored at sea became the victim of a male humpback whale who mistook it for a female and playfully attacked it. However, with the weight of 40 tons, the humpback whale nearly sunk the boat, which became flooded with water. Luckily, the boat and crew emerged safe if a little shaken.

Hungarian artist Zsuzsi Csiszer's installation titled Átjárás, which translates as Passage, features half of a train car bursting through the floor in the Templespace of Museum Kiscell. The site-specific work brings many thoughts and questions to mind due to its large scale and unusual location within an 18th century temple hall. The life-size sculptural installation leads one to believe that the carriage has inexplicably crashed into the ground.

Taken in New York on June of 2012, this series of Citizens take me there every time I see this project. Captured in a healing and introspective trip, these images symbolize the joy I felt during that specific time and place, a renewed joy felt after some difficult times. Kids will dance, water will splash, people will watch and everything will be ok.

This is a timelapse video of the process involved in taking the “Success Kid” meme and turning it into a tiny sandstone statue. Don’t you want a tiny “success kid” you can keep in your pocket like a lucky rabbit foot?
The tiny figurine is made by Shapeways, the same company who brought the F U Anteater to life. The meager cost for acquiring such a tiny bit of awesome? The little guy’s going for $17.99, to which we can only respond with a hearty:

Wow, that’s a lot of internet crammed into one video. I'll tell you what, if you can name every meme and viral video that this video references, I’ll give you a prize.
Okay, I won’t give you a prize, but the company that made the video, Klick Health, just might. They’re giving away a trip, a MacBook Air or an iPad to the person with the most correct answers. You can finally get something back for all those hours you’ve wasted on YouTube. Congratulations!

There’s nothing like a good “Rick Roll” to improve your airport experience. Except for, you know, getting bumped up to first class free of charge. But let’s be realistic, that’s not going to happen.
So here is a video of a pianist at Chicago’s O’Hare airport playing the best hits from the internet. ‘Never Gonna Give You Up,’ ‘Chocolate Rain,’ ‘Gangnam Style,’ and more. It’s almost as good as unlimited free in-flight cocktails (not really).

Much like the Overly Attached Girlfriend, Cecelia Gimenez, the lady who accidentally painted a Monkey Jesus this summer, is using her internet fame for good rather than evil. After selling an original painting on eBay, she plans to donate all $1,427 earned to charity.
So there’s good news and bad news. The good news is $1,427 more has been raised for charity. The bad news is we live in a world where somebody will pay $1,427 for a painting by the Monkey Jesus lady. To be fair, it is somewhat better than her attempt to restore the Ecce Homo fresco in her church:
And, just in case you don’t believe me, here are the final results of the auction:

In general, restaurants avoid dirt in their food, lest they raise the ire of paying customers and/or the health board. But a high-end restaurant in Japan is taking a different approach by serving a $110 full-course meal where dirt is actually the main ingredient.
At Ne Quittez Pas, a Southern France-inspired restaurant in Tokyo, Chef Toshio Tanabe is offering a menu that includes potato starch and dirt soup, a salad with dirt dressing, sea bass with dirt risotto, dirt gratin, dirt ice cream and dirt mint tea. (What, no dirty martini to wash it down?)
A fearless critic at RocketNews24 actually tried the pricey meal and found that it surprisingly didn’t taste like dirt. Instead, she described it as “divine,” “delicious” and at times “complex.”
Sorry, but we’re still not convinced. After all, $110 is a lot to pay for dirt when there’s plenty already in our backyard. Check out some photos of the dirt-y meal below.

Peter Bailey, 27, was taking his dog for her evening walk along the beach in Tenby, Wales, when he came across this unusual sight. He snapped some pictures of it, because he had no idea what it is, and now it has earned the name The Beast of Tenby.
Bailey told the Western Telegraph, “Immediately I thought it was a horse, but it had claws like a bear and a body of a pig. Surprisingly, it didn’t smell.” Dr. Dan Forman, a professor at the Swansea University, told the Sun that its toes suggest it could be a badger. Now we are terrified of badgers.
This isn’t the first time a bizarre creature has washed up on shore in recent months. Back in July, there was the case of the “Montauk Monster,” a dog-like beast that turned up on shore in Long Island.
What do you think the Beast of Tenby could be? Are you afraid to go in the water? Get a closer look below.
