Google gives us a peak into the future with their new shades which listen to the command 'Ok Glass' to implement a variety of features, such as take a picture or video of whatever the person is looking at, share it with others and even give directions. The concept faced criticism in terms of its look - would people really wear something so futuristic? Google is said to be in the talks with Warby Parker - a producer of modern and stylish glasses, to enhance the look of their shades and make it more appealing to the general public.

20 feb 2013 14:56
For high school, did your history teacher ever make you build one of these model air planes for your WWII project? Mine did. And I think I glued all the pieces of that supposed airplane and accidentally made a panzer tank instead. This man, however, put in some incredible detail to his project and deserves to be recognized.

20 feb 2013 13:24
Hundreds of gunmen were protecting these islands from rival cartels and government troops. One of these islands belonged to Pablo Escobar himself. But nowadays, with the largest Colombian drug cartels gone and Pablo Escobar dead, these islands are the property of the state. The legacy of Escobar lives on in Medellin, in a different and slightly unusual manner. The man and his life are now sold as a tourist attraction to visitors which has proven to be quite popular. Of course, if I tell you where all these places are, I'd have to kill you.

To Infinity, and Beyond!
20 feb 2013 13:10
In theoretical physics, M-theory is an extension of string theory in which 11 dimensions are identified. Proponents believe that the 11-dimensional theory unites all five 10 dimensional string theories and supersedes them. Though a full description of the theory is not known, the low-entropy dynamics are known to be supergravity interacting with 2- and 5-dimensional membranes. Kind of makes you wonder, what else can be out there.

Say Hello to the DeskBed
19 feb 2013 15:34

Space deprived college students and city dwellers will appreciate this desk that converts into a bed. The compact unit takes up little more space than a large desk would but it also houses a bed. The interesting thing that I like about this is that there is enough clearance with the bed down that you don’t have to remove anything from your desk. Now you can have your cake and eat it too.. I mean... sit in bed and do your homework...

Cereals From 1980's You Will Never Taste Again

From the movie tie-ins, to lure of toys and video games right down to the fluro artwork and brightly colour fonts, having a bowl of sugary cereal wasn’t just a snack in the 80′s, it was an experience. But trends and fads come and go and thus, these classic boxes, limited edition designs and unusual flavours have all been consigned to the rubbish tip of pop culture history.

A Chilling Look At The Fashion Of The Ku Klux Klan
18 feb 2013 11:52
They are one of the most infamous minority groups in US history having formed in 1865. The Ku Klux Klan (commonly known as the KKK) are an extreme group who value white supremacy / nationalism and who are fiercely ant-immigration and multiculturalism. They’re instantly recognizable from their white pointed hoods, designed to hide their identity & invoke fear amongst locals. Many of them operated & orchestrated night attacks in rural towns where they were prone to being recognised by their vicitims. “The kind of thing that men are afraid or ashamed to do openly, and by day, they accomplish secretly, masked, and at night.” With this method of disguise, both the high and the low could be attacked. They would frequently burn down the houses of African American’s, shooting, beating, raping or hanging them at will. They even suppressed black voting in Southern states, with over 2,000 individuals killed, wounded and otherwise injured in Louisiana within a few weeks prior to the Presidential election of November 1868.

Peter Chinn is changing the way we view life and our understanding of birth with his use of 3D ultrasound scans, nano cameras and computer graphics. He’s the producer of National Geographic’s “Extraordinary Animals in the Womb”. series whereby he looks at the growth and development of embryonic animals from the date of conception, until birth. It’s photographs from that show which we’re featuring below. We think they’re startling, magical and jaw-droppingly beautiful in equal amounts.
