Ah, childhood. Ah, nostalgia. We all remember watching our favorite cartoons on Saturday mornings, all hyped on pancakes and sugary cereal (we miss you Oreo O's!). But does your childhood brain recall the inappropriate jokes the creators hid in various loved animated series? See if you can refresh your memory.
Here we have two clips from the TV show “Rocko’s Modern Life”. In this scene the character Heffer (a bull) has run away from home and taken refuge in a nearby barn for the night. He gets mistaken for a female cow and hilariousness ensues. Let’s just say he is awoken in quite an interesting manner. Can you see where I am going here?
In the second clip, our protagonist Rocko is searching for work in the newspaper. He sees an ad for a phone operator, or so he thinks. Watch as he gets a surprise call from his amphibian neighbor.
Warner Bros. Animaniacs is also no stranger to innuendo. Particularly, this scene comes to mind. While our beloved characters are busy with detective work, Yakko instructs Dot to search for “finger prints”. Mishearing this, she comes up with her own interpretations of what Yakko said. Watch the cameo from the artist formally known below.
The W.B. show loved innuendo so much that it had the running gag: "Goodnight, everybody". See for yourself here.
So is your childhood ruined? Have you also discovered inappropriate humor in your cartoons many years later? Write in the comments below.
