Many of us grew up on Sesame Street. We all had our favorite characters, but there was one in particular that those of us with a sweet tooth could really identify with: the Cookie Monster. He made it okay to shamelessly chow down on tons of cookies when you got a hankering. And while there are plenty of ways to show your love for the Cookie Monster, this rug is perfect for any toddler who needs a fun, comfy spot to munch on some delicious cookies.
The first step was finding the right material...
Next, he traced the shape of his hand, which would be used when cutting the fabric.
Using chalk, he traced the outline of one half of the Cookie Monster rug on the back side of the fabric.
He cut out the shape of the rug using an X-Acto knife.
By folding the fabric over itself, he cut out the second half to match.
Then it was time to give this rug some eyes!
Some simple balls of white yarn would do just fine.
He attached black buttons for the pupils and then sewed the eyes onto the head.
He sewed foam under the head for added cushioning.
And who is the Cookie Monster without some cookies?
After cutting out the cookie shapes, he sewed the halves together and attached chocolate chips. Then he stuffed the cookies with pillow batting.
And here's the finished Cookie Monster rug.
