It’s been proven time and time again that not all heroes wear capes, some rock a shaggy coat of fur and run on 4 legs. Max, a 17-year-old blue heeler from Queensland, Australia, is no exception as his heroic actions are praised all over the internet.
Meet Max, a 17-year-old deaf and half-blind dog from Queensland, Australia who became a true hero last weekend
Last Friday, wearing only a T-shirt and pants, the 3-year-old Aurora wandered off with Max into bushland and got lost
Local police forces, as well as volunteers, looked for Aurora for over 15 hours, on a cold and rainy night
On a Saturday morning Leisa Bennett heard the girl’s voice, “I shot up the mountain, and when I got to the top, the dog came to me and led me straight to her”
They followed the dog and found Aurora on top of a steep hill, in good health
Max, although deaf and half-blind stayed with Aurora all night, keeping her warm as well as leading the search party to where she was hiding
For his heroic actions, Max has been declared a honorary police dog by the local police department
