Intricate Paper Animals Crafted with Elaborate Origami Techniques
19 dec 2014 13:24
Polish artist Piotr Sokolowski’s elaborate origami creations use intricate tucks and folds to bring three-dimensional paper animals to life. To make the creatures, the artist uses the practice of modular origami — folding paper and creating multiple components, then joining the components into one larger creation without adhesive such as glue or string. Some of the animals display impressive plumage and adorable facial expressions while others, such as a coiled cobra, are more menacing.

Extreme Make-Up Art Inspired By Dark Fantasy World
17 dec 2014 14:43
When I was 14 (now I’m 23 y.o.), I began experimenting with make-up, starting with small paints on my arms and of course doodling on my arms at school, probably something everybody did! When I was 16, I decided to go to the all round make-up artist school in Amsterdam (ROC allround grimeur). Had the best time of my life there! Through the education I also gained a passion for styling. Now I make headdresses, no-sew clothing, photography backgrounds, etc.

Making Nature Spirits Visible
16 dec 2014 10:05
As a child I always wanted to see mythical creatures from fairy tales. Of course I did not see them. Now I am older but child in me is still curious, so one day I come up with the idea how to see them. I went into the forest, picked up a magical place and surrendered myself to the process. I picked up available nature materials, asked the spirit to reveal him (her) self to me and started to work. So some pretty amazing faces came into reality

Momentum In Dust
15 dec 2014 11:00
My name is Tomas Januska and recently I’ve photographed downhill skateboarders doing slides with dust. Some of these photos won various photo contests. Movement means a lot to me. Therefore, in this photo series I wanted to capture extreme sport riders in the sliding moment while joining movement with dust. The aim of this was to capture the technicality of the sliding movement, something that is also shown in races but differently.

As an occasional motorbike racer and full-time motorbike mechanic, I started to love working with steel. That was when bearings, gears, chains and outlets started to be...

Apparently, Owls Can Swim Now
09 dec 2014 09:16
The bird had been attacked by two Peregrine Falcons and sought refuge in the water. Spitzer hurried to help it, but was surprised when the owl simply started swimming to safety. As the owl isn’t a water bird, it swam almost like a human, keeping its head above the water and doing a breast stroke. At this time of year young owls have to leave their parents’ territories and find their own. In this case, the area belonged to falcons, which are very territorial.
