9-Year-Old Achieves Dream of Starting a No-Kill Animal Shelter

For as long as he can remember, it has been 9-year-old Ken's dream to open an animal shelter to help the stray dogs and cats on the streets of the Philippines. Although Ken anticipated that he wouldn't be able to start his own shelter until he was an adult, that dream has now become a reality thanks to his own hard work and the help of his father, concerned locals, and kind donors from all over the world. The main goal of Ken's shelter, named the Happy Animals Club, is to...

Incredible Life-Sized Drawings of Animals that Look 3D

Vancouver-based art student Fiona Tang creates masterful, life-sized drawings of animals that appear to pop right off of the paper. A tough-looking whale emerges from the wall to battle a menacing shark; a regal deer looks straight at the viewer; an immense crocodile pokes its snout out from the wall. Although the artworks look incredibly three-dimensional, each piece is actually a completely flat and 2D drawing, created using a variety of media like charcoal, acrylic paint, conte, and chalk...

Cats who can be placed even in small areas

Cats never fail to amaze us with their determination to fit into tight spaces, but the cats in these photos are the best of their best. Although it might look like some of them might not fit – where there’s a will, there’s a way.
We may never be 100% sure just why cats love to cram themselves into small spaces, but it probably has something to do with predation and safety. Cats are stalkers that rely on stealth and cover to hunt their prey. Most house cats have nothing to hunt, but their...
