Water In Venice Canals Goes Crystal Clear After Coronavirus Lockdown
18 mar 2020 19:15

Where pessimists see a half-empty glass, optimists come along to show that it’s actually half-full. Same goes for the ongoing chaos of the coronavirus—while some are hoarding away toilet paper like there’s no tomorrow, there are people who see positive outcomes even in a situation as dire as this. One of these positive outcomes is that pollution has dropped down dramatically following the lockdown of Italy.

Beautiful Photos of Sophia Loren at Her Grand Roman Villa in 1964
20 jan 2020 14:15

In the summer of 1964, Alfred Eisenstaedt paid a visit to Sophia Loren at her grand villa in Rome that she shared with her life-long husband, producer Carlo Ponti. This could be seen as the fulfilment of the promise that Ponti made to Loren when they got married in 1957, that he would give her “the most beautiful house in the world.” And indeed it was.

I Ventured Into The Italian Countryside And Found An Abandoned Monastery
28 nov 2019 15:40

Sacred, it is this place at the end of a path which not long ago I have walked: forested, the road rises from the foot of a small Italian city and ends at the top of a hill, where you will find an imposing monastery rich in art and history, engulfed by an oak forest, a place hard to find for vandals. Perhaps that’s why the interior of the church has been preserved so well.

#1 Colosseum

Regarded by the world as one of the greatest empires to ever exist, the Roman Empire had many accomplishments. And Roman architecture is definitely one of them. The living testament to its glory are the constructions that still stand to this day, despite around 2000 years of fire, war, wear and scavenging people. Yet while we see what is left in our day, it is always fascinating to see what the iconic structures looked like back in their glorious days.

Italian Sculptor Creates Marble Masterpiece In 7 Years And People Can’t Believe It’s All Marble

The Cappella Sansevero, a chapel in the historic center of Naples, Italy, is one of the most awe-inspiring spaces on Earth. Everywhere you look you are confronted by sculptures of astonishing beauty, a bevy of masterpieces from 18th century Italian artists that have left visitors scratching their heads in wonder for hundreds of years: how can such intricate works possibly have been carved from single pieces of marble?

Sheep In Tuscan Fields In Italy
14 may 2015 13:24

This set is about sheep from Tuscan fields. These several pictures was taken during few trips to Italy, mainly on spring and summer. Herds of sheep are very popular in this area so I decided to make some pictures in good locations with them. It was quite hard sometimes because they moved not where I wanted and it’s not a good idea to come closer to negotiate with them. All of them are guarded by Tuscan dogs that are not always friendly with photographers :)
